bulb swap unsure ?

could some1 tell me is it safe to put a hps bulb into my 250w meatal halide unit ? obs hps bulb would be 250w ?

Some ballasts you can... some you can't. I'd error on the side of safety and not try.

What brand/model MH ballast are you running? In some instances, you can run an MH bulb in an HPS ballast, but not the other way around. Need more info on your equipment to give you a concrete answer.

i think if it is hps ballast u can but i dont think that the MH ballast are interchanging

i say try it! whats the worse that can happen?? you blow a blub well then at least you know that you cant lol........ but if it dose work then you have just saved your self a few $

You cannot use one in the other unless you buy the conversion bulb available at most hydro shops. Unless you have a ballst that switches from mh to hps and that would be very obvious.
