:hump: So i decided to try and build my own green house using pvc pipes and panda plastic and mylar but b4 i went and started cutting away at the pvc pipes and puttin it together i wanted to check my dimension and lumens with sum pros that grow .....so here is what i got...
1000 watt hps sun system with hordalux bulbs i belive this produces about 130,000 lumens if my memory serves me correct (the dude at the grow store gave me that info)this is for the flowering room

the dimensiones for the flower room are as followed

4 ft length
4.9 ft width
=19.6sq ft at 7,000 lumens per squar feet over about 15 plants
and for my veg room its not anything fancy maybe just to veg one or two momma plants our a couple of babies i have a couple of cfls in total amount of lumens is 19,814

dimensiones for veg as followed
3.5 ft lenth
2 ft width
=2830.5714 lumens per sq ft with maybe 6 plants in 6 or 7 inch pots

THNAKS A BUNCH 2 ANYBODY WHO CAN GIVE ME ANY INFO ......:joint:

with a 1000 watt light your gonna need some good height for the room. Remember your gonna wanna keep that light at least 20 inches from the top of the plants so lets say you veg to oh 18 inches then flip it to flower its gonna double at least so you will need at least around 5-6 feet assuming it doesnt triple in height which is very possible and likely with that much light. Make sure to have good air intake line fans and a good out exhaust fan like at least 6-8 inch inline fans ahs heat will be quick and you gotta keep it under 80 if at all possible.

Yhea I Got An Aircooled Hood.........the Temp Is Satying At About 75 80 But Its Humid As Shit In The Grow Room............

first i would like to say hi to everyone :D . this is my first post on these boards and i need some of your valuble advice. i too have made a grow room for the first time and its 5.5ft high and 3.5ft wide and 5.5ft long. i have a HPS 400watt bulb and canopy. i have got some thick white plastic sheeting and need to know if it will be safe with the heat from the lamp in a box room of this size. i was thinking of having tin-foil sides up to about 24". can anyone also tell me do i need fans .
thanks in advance

Aluminum Foil:
Aluminum foil is no more than 55% reflective - if used, make sure that the dull side is the one that is used to reflect the light. When it becomes creased its reflectivity is even lower (around 35%.) It is also very dangerous to use because it creates hotspots easily, is electrically conductive, and is a fire hazard when it is in close contact with HID lighting. Attaching this to walls is a pain and usually using aluminum tape or glue is the best way. This should only be used as a last resort, and even then its usefulness is questionable.

if your are serious about growing then be serious about the risks. with that said, do it right. spend the extra money and time to be safe. you dont want to come home to find ashes, firemen and cops where your house was. foil should never be used. cheap flat (matte) white paint is up there with poly and mylar. and i use poly and paint. also, 40watts per square foot. 400w should be no more then a 3x3, and that is too big but i like to have room to work. you are paying for the lumens.

yep i agree with the above satements...........get sum mylar its not that expensive u dont need that much ...and yes you will need sum fans cuz its gonna get hot in thurr probably around 90 degreez so get a couple fans and leave the door open when the lights are on unless you have intake fans exexexex ............yhea i think a 3x3 room would be perfect for a 400 watt you can probably pull of a little sea of green just straight flower your clones if thats what your using and drop new clones in every week so you can harvest every week ..................
