hi,

my first grow is well under way :)

2o days into flowering and going along nicely in my current set-up which seems to be doing the job.

once these are cut though i don't want to have to start from seed again as it takes so long so i want to build a box for vegging. here's what i need.

what else do i need to know, any one got good ideas, dimensions, anything?

thanks

my starter box is a 4 light bath fixture from home depot big enough for a seed starter tray to fit in and about maybe 24 inchs tall .. the fixture is hanging by smaller cord coming out top of my box so i can keep light right on them as the grow .. is flat white paint on inside .. starter tray to catch any water my leak out after watering .. i use the 24 watt cfl bulbs that they say are equal to 100 watt normal bulbs .. works great for first few weeks .. i start them in solo cups so roots have some room .. would do easy 10 plants for veg i have started 15 with this box and still had room for few more .. and if u wanted it sealed just use small fan and duct runing out room .. i have no fans at all just vent holes but i am not worried about light its in different room than my veg room

Best material by far for light blocking is black/white poly. It's like a tarp but black on one side and white on the other. You can seal off any light leakage with that.

My veg box is about 18" deep, 36" wide and 36" tall. I use a 150W CFL and need to use a 4" computer fan for ventilation with a passive intake when it is warm, no need in the winter. Picture is attached, this has worked really good and the plants can crowd really close to the light.
