Buds on fan leaves?

Last year I grew an outdoor plant that had buds growing between the fingers on a fan leaf like this..

What makes this happen? I totally forgot to research it on the net if it was in the strain or what until I seen that pic. Any info? I still have seeds from that batch.. was awesome white fat hairs everywhere.. made an outdoor plant look like grade A hydro

I've never seen it and that one in the pic is fake.

never seen nothing like that an ive seen alot of outdoor stuff

well if that picture is fake so be it.. but I've grown fan leaves with bud/hairs invbetween the fingers JUST like that on the main cola's around the fat bud. I Might chuck in a seed outside and start a journal if I have a chance... wish I had taken pics...
