No! Those leaves turn sunlight into sugars that feed those buds. They wont start fattening up untill week 5 of flower and really most of the weight will be the last two weeks of flower. typically 8-12 weeks of flower some going as long as 17 weeks for equatorial sativa strains.
okay thank you, and one more question. i haven't used ANY ferts or nutes and all my plants look and smell great, i just found mg bloom should i use it?
You can't just arbitrarily use nutrients - you should follow some type of feeding schedule so you give them everything they need. Also be aware that the amounts provided by the nutrient mfg. are just an all around average - some need more - some need less. Start with 1/8 or 1/4 strength and work your way up in strength as the plants develop.
Depends are they outside in the ground, or inside in pots, outside in pots? Just buried in your local dirt. Or did you dig holes and put a good soil in the ground? Be careful with MG in pots, it can cause a salt build up pretty fast. More info about your set up would help. If you do decide to use start off slow olny using it once a week at 1/4 of what the label says. But if the leaves are a nice green color and look healthy leave them alone, But if you cant stand it and gotta experiment, I would maybe only give them a 8th at best, and slowly work your way up to half strength at about the 10-12 week mark of flower. Be very very patience, you can't really speed up nature as most ppl want to believe.
If you need to cut some off to open up the canopy then go for it, but like MircalGrow said just dont go crazy with it. I cut fan leaves in the middle off every grow and i pull over 2oz a plant from 2 gallon pots in soil using Fox Farms only with a 400 watt lamp. You can always bend and tie down some of your cola's to the side as to open up the canopy without cutting any leafs off.
there all in the ground some are ahead of others lemon skunk, hogsbreath and some unknown ones. some are in local nursery soil and some i just dug a hole and used the soil in ground
If you don't want to cut any leaves off, try tucking them away. If I have a big leaf shading a bud, I usually grab the stem of the leaf and squeeze it until I feel it break inside. The stem will be floppy where you just squeezed, but not broken on the outside. Helps you get it out of the way, but keeps on functioning.
