Budget Veg Light Advise

Like the tittle says I want to build a light on the cheap I'm thinking of using these. Wired in parallel my question is what's the biggest foot print that I could squeeze out of 150watts?

Is a 30x30 inch tent pushing my luck ? Also what kind of thermal tape should I use to mount the strips?

Wanna go even "budgety-er", look at Bridgelux EB series LED strips (BXEB-l0z560z-35e2000-c-b3)
I use them in all my builds. Although less( not much less) efficient than Samsung, I find the BXEB to be the winner in the "bang for the buck" category. If youre intending on using 3500k the EB's are surprisingly cheap. The 4000K or above are higher ticket.
Indeed the LRS series driver as well, marginal loss in efficiency vs the HLG, for substantial savings. Although the voltage on EBs doesn't match as nicely as the Sammys….With the LRS

Yeah I've been vegging under 3k for like a year I liked the stacking. So 3500k seems good for me. Thanks I'll check them out.
 
Wow those are about half the price of the one's I was looking at. How many would I run parrel confuses me ?

Yes they are, but you need twice as many to get the same amount of light. And the 19V they run at is difficult to match with budget power supplies. Stick with the Sammies, IMHO. 6 of them at 150W will fill out a 30x30 space quite nicely. Thats what I'm running on my veg space right now (24 x 39).

BTW - if you buy from Arrow you get free shipping PLUS a 30% new customer discount.
 
Yes, the BXEB, with it's lower max current and V is probably better suited for smallish builds, with series wiring setups. When compared to what the Sammy's can do, the savings only appears to be substantial.....

They are both very good, neither really is head and shoulders above the other in terms of efficiency and overall cost per lumen - but I do prefer the Sammies 24 volt Vf - its much easier to work with if you want to use budget supplies.

I already have the power supply and a 32x32 inch tent so I'll probably go with Samsung. Although I like them super cheap eb' s.
 
Indeed, and basically the reason I have all BXEB, is repurposing CC drivers I already had. 1050s and 700s pretty much waste upside with the Samsung.
Any future building will be parallel, then the BXEB loses value.

Yeah, one thing I just don't get is why Bridgelux decided to go with such a non-standard voltage. Two more diodes in each string and they would be at 24 volts.
