Budget no-till grow - Update pics

3 Amnesia Autos. Day 52 from seed for the biggest one, other two are week or so younger. This is my first grow. Light is single 3500K cxb3590 and 4x 2700K 23w Philips led bulbs(waiting for my 3x H_inFlux L09 to arrive). 2'x2'x5' tent. Very budget soil mix and no-till approach. Didn't buy any amendments, made the things I could make myself. LST trained them from the beginning to flower, did my best atleast. They got just a shy rain of frost. Cute girls.

How are they looking? Yay or Nay?

Could be low night temps (15-16C). Or maybe the fact that I trimmed and pruned%20 them from lower canopy 30-40 minutes before the pictures. Thanks.

i dont see any stress. it looks great. nice job! well managed canopy
They actually were stressed, because of my light being too close. After that intense heat they go to intense cold at night. But I raised my light quite a bit, they are looking better now. Thanks.

single 3500K cxb 3590 running @2450mamps= 88w + 4x 23w Philips led bulbs= 92w+88w= 180watts total. I don't believe those bulbs are doing much but better than nothing. My 3 H_inFlux L09's gonna be here in a week or so. Which is gonna be 150-180w light and way better than my current one. My CoB is gonna be my seedling light to late veg light in even smaller diy tent. And strips gonna be veg to harvest light. I'll turn back my LPC-150-2450 for a ELG-200-48A paying 10 bucks on top. And grab me a new LPC-60-1400 to run the CoB 25bucks. In the end I'll be burning same wattage for much better results

By the way I made a big mistake by planting 3 plants in far out corners of the pot. If cob is as close as I want, it barely reaches to all 3 plants with corner of the light and becomes a hot point at the middle. So I have to keep my light as far as I can with a reflector on to make it "almost" cover all 3 plants. That lowers the intensity I would think.

It's a very budget setup, fart fan removed from my bathroom(no more after coffee farts for me), used as an exhaust fan. Inline fan blowing air to the plants, because it was too strong to be my exhaust fan(winter time). And that's it. I'm paying around 30bucks a month for whole setup.

I'm well aware of that they are short and small but considering I did every mistake there is(over watered, under watered, over top dressed, changed light cycle countless times, cooked them with light for most of their life).. They are looking okay.

My next grow gonna be single plant for sure. And I will be using scrog and some type of auto wicking system for watering.

Got three strains:
FastBuds Girl Scout Cookies
FastBuds Zkittlez
FastBuds Blue Dream'

Reason I went with only autos: I didn't knew if I was gonna be able to buy a tent. I started growing in 1x1x1 cabinet.

yeah you have extremely lowered intensity. as the distance doubles, the amount of light is decreased quadruple. so at a distance of 20 in gets 4x as much light as the distance of 40in. or another way of saying it, the distance of 40in receives 25% the amount of light than a distance of 20 in.

you likely would have yielded a lot more product had you not worried about the plants on the outside and just let it do its thing. but, live and learn :) . still a nice looking plant!

Well I will have my sammy strips after 5 days to be exact. So I can say that the next grow is gonna be insane. I will build the light and start running as soon as it comes. Won't change much but still will do something. By the way I just noticed that the led bulbs were 13w not 23w. So that means I'm running 140w. Lowered the light a bit and removed the reflector, will see if it effects the growth rate.

There is no way I could grow them outdoors if thats what you ment. Its -5C outside.

Other than that I'm expecting atleast few ounces dry total. Top notch flowers too, they are smelling amazing. Smallest plant smells just like fresh mandarins. I was so suprised when I noticed it. I was pruning the bottom flowers that doesn't get light, usually decarb and make edibles with them or just smoke them if I'm in a hurry. No joke it fucks me up already. That thing literally smells like my fingers after peeling 18 mandarins. If I get 0.5g/w I will call that success for sure.

By the way does anyone know where is that mandarin smell comes from? Original haze or Northern lights? Probably haze right? Seedsman's Amnesia Auto is Original Haze x Northern Lights x Lowryder #2. I heard citrus smells are most likely to show on sativa strains.

no i meant the areas on the outside of your light footprint. you should have just found a middle ground instead of keeping it as far up as possible. every light has a hotspot in the middle, no matter what type it is. you want that strong illumination! monitor leaf surface temps with a temp laser gun to find the most effective light position. those things are like 15$, cheap and effective tool.

Oh I definitely agree with that. I just didn't think that coverage wouldn't be enough. Wasn't really experienced with lights at the time. Not saying that I became Jonny Electricity in few weeks but you know how it goes. Atleast I didn't buy a blurple. Live and learn.

Well thanks buddy, feels great to hear that.

About the coverage situation: I trained all 3 of them to lean at the middle after noticing that coverage wasn't enough. So I did my best to fix the error.

Some pictures along the way:

Yeah I turned the pot couple of times.

Training them was pretty scetchy when this guy was around:

But I accidently killed him while cleaning the bottom of the tent, didn't knew he was living under the reflective thing at the very bottom of the tent. Still sad about that. Rip. He/she got some babies tho so thats nice. Seen them couple of times running around.

Some pictures from yesterday Day 56. They are sleeping right now. I changed the light schedule to 12/12 so they can have more grow time.

Last night I gave them some homemade bokashi banana juice and some fermented stinging nettle juice. Still can't figure out how much water they drink so we will see how they react to last watering.

I guess they don't like the 12/12 ? I always thought that every flowering fruiting plant grew its fruits and flowers mostly at night time, even if they were autoflowers. I guess its deeper than that, because I tried bunch of different light schedules and the most I gave them were 18h, and thats when they performed the best. I'll try out 20/4 for few days to see whats hanging on that side.

Yeah I’m pretty sure autos do not like a 12/12 photoperiod. Keep on the 18/6 from what I’ve seen others doing.

As for when they grow... that’s actually an interesting topic that would be worth looking into further.

lookin mad stressed take it from me over 100 grows done and harvested cured dryed and taekn down and taken care of be super careful could end up hermy in morst of the plant my man
