Bud in jars for several months, harvest earlier?

I notice that with the passing of time, my stored buds still get me high (or higher sometimes!) as ever, and they seem to vape better when cured longer too. However, they get a stonier feeling too, which is not what I want from some of my strains. So on particular strains, particularly sativas, should I harvest earlier so they won't have such a stony effect after several months?

For instance, my first harvest was Female Sedes Neville's Haze back in July 2012. I still have a small bit left, but it doesn't give me the same uplifting high I once had. Still good, but not the same type of euphoric, energetic buzz as when it was "fresher".

Opinions?

Shit bro I wish I lived closer to u to help smoke it up hahaha it just seems like u have excess Amts n lasts to long
Great job! Haha Nah but seriously tho, of u want to stop the cure, get it to where u want it and store it in your freezer.

Of course make sure air tight tho. The freezer will stop the cure since it freezes the molecules n the bud moisture to low to continue curing

Freezer not really an option since I am stealth and some people (family) tend to go into my freezer from time to time. But thanks for the suggestion!

I notice the same thing with my Kali Mist. It definitely has a stronger buzz after long storage, but the up end of things suffers a little because of it. I suppose that if I grew only one plant at a time and smoked it in a shorter time frame, that would solve the problem, but the conditions under which I grow, only allow me to make 2 runs a year. I had some that I took early to see if that idea would work, but in my case all i got for it was light and fluffy buds and it still got a little stony after long term storage. I haven't tried it, but I thought about getting the cure to where I want it and then letting the bud really dry out to see if that would stop the process. It might or I might just end up with really dry slightly stony sativa on my hands again.

I haven't worried too much about this problem because even with the stony edge, the buzz is so nice I can live with it and still be a happy camper.

if you like mild weed change the strain but do not fuck up your female by harvesting earlier
That's not what he said at all....

As far as the OP. I tend to start giving away my older jarred sativas when they reach that point. Best solution I know.

I have another solution...turn my once daytime smoke into evening smoke :). It hasn't actually become that stony yet though!

Chop at all cloudy...waiing for ambers gonna give u the "stony" feeling ur getting...if u chop at all cloudy...or a clear cloudy mix...u should have the bud ur looking for...by u chopping at 10% amber while stil on the plant..ur buds are stil maturing and ripening while drying...and curing...after a good cure only then has the bud reached full potential w fully potent chemicals as they are are fully dry and completely psychoactive...I've done a lot of research on this n I've learned the buds are stil ripening/maturing thru drying curing process....scope ur trichs at harvest then after two weeks drying n curing n notice the increase in ambers.

From what I understand thc is converted into cbd as the trichs degrade and age....the amber trichs...so for flowers w the highest thc content we're always sppsd to look for the cloudy....clear immature...cloudy full thc...amber degrading and converting to cbd...stoney couchlock hi.....I've read lots n lots and of course there's diff info and opinions everywhere but this is what I've gathered frm it all.

Isnt it stupid how much info is out there on one subject , especially of all sorts and different directions . Confuses the hell out of me. I love a knockout high so amber I suppose.
