Buckets and drains

I'll be putting some drains in the bottom of some 3 gal buckets I have, and I'd like to use 1/2" pvc since I have a surplus of it. Is there a 1/2" drain fitting? Maybe a 1/2" reducer I can buy for a standard drain? Am I better off cutting a piece off another fitting to glue it in place?
