I know there is a really long thread on this subject. But i was wondering if anyone has done this other than the creator and what kinds of yield they get. The creator was talking about up to 7 ounces per plants for a 5 week veg, 9 week flower. That's insane, and he did it all with floros???/

So just wondering if anyone was able to recreate this.

Thank you.

Hello,

I can attest to this. I onnly used thenutes that came with the system and CFLs check out some of the pictures I posted and you will see what im talking about. I think they are on page 870 or 880 you will see and that is just from one plant good luck.

Would you say this system is better than areopnics? And is your electricity cost lower due to the floros?

This system will produce a good 3 oz per plant after you learn how to grow hydroponically. I have seen 7oz with some growers but that comes after you know how to care for the particular needs of the strain you are growing. Done 5 grow with good success and get more product every grow as I learn. First 3 I practiced with were bagseed and when I thought I knew enough I invested in some quality genetics.

This system is much better the aeroponics. With Aeroponics you rely on the emitters not being clogged to provide the needed water and nutrients. The electricity cost is minimal and much reduced with using CFL's. With a full blown set up of CFL's and pumps my cost were $25-30/month tops. The added benefit of CFL's is that they burn coolers and there is no need to vent the heat outside the grow room. Sometimes that just isn't practical and CFL's are the solution.

This is the best way I know how to grow...in this bubbleponics unit...low maintenance, rapid growth..theres just so many advantages you have growing with this system.Just check any one of my threads.
Want proof.....

Purp,

That bud porn made me take a long bong hit in your honor! If I fall off the chair later it's your fault! LOL! All I can say is Wow!

Hey, thank for the responses.

Mostly Crazy - you had mentioned you have gotten more yield once you learn how to take care of each strain. would you mind mentioning specific alterations you made with specific strains?

Also, how many watts per plant are you using. If i was to grow 100 plants would CFL's still be beneficial to me?

Also, How much does pump electricity factor in? I'm guessing not much.

Are there any particular strains that work the best in this system? Any special nuts?

I'm looking forward to trying this method out, i will also be running a areo at the same time to compare results.

thanks again

The SH system is a starter system used mostly in closet grows. My first grow was terrible. All my plants save one died and a got about 1 1/2 oz. I had not found this thread yet so your way up on me. I found this thread in the middle of my second grow. Got three females to harvest and got about 5 oz. I started with bagseed so I could learn how to grow before I screwed up and wasted money on strains. I started using GH Flora series nutes toward the end of my second grow. There was noticeable improvement as it is easier for me to work with liquid nutes. On the second grow I also learned to use side lights. On my third grow I bought a good PH and TDS meter and did the weekly res changes thoughout the whole grow. For the third grow I vegged with the 6500K CFL's and and bought a 250 HPS and used that and some 2700 CFL's as side lights. Third grow was over 7 oz from three plants. At that point I trusted my self and was confindent that I could invest in some good seeds and bought some Barney's farm Fem LSD. Had a very uneventful grow for a new strain and got a total of about 8.5 oz dried. I also dabbled in hash oil and Iso hash and made cannabutter. I want to learn and experience all the different aspects of growing, harvest and max production. Most of the growers here start where you are starting and add as needed and take each others advise if problems arise.

Right now I'm using the 250watt and 3 105w CFL as side lights and am growing clones of the LSD as my fifth grow. I'm about 3 weeks into flower and it looks exactly like my last grow. If you were growing 100 plants you would be using a Metal Halide light for veg and a HPS for flower and you would be venting it big time. This ysystem is not for mass production. This is a starter system to teach you how to grow in a closet if necessary for stealth reasons.

Pump takes about as much electricity as it takes to see the pump. Not Much.

We all grow different strains. Most grow some kind of indica and indica dominant strain due to growing height limits and quick flowering. White Widow/Northern lights are popular as well and skunk and kush and afghani crossed strains plus a few other variation including some extrememly patient grower who grow satives for 14 weeks or more. I am growing the LSD for the last couple of grows but plan to swtich to a Purple Wreck next time. Big ass colas on that strain and I have reg. seeds and if/when I get a male I may get some pollen for some breeding work later. Like I said, I want to learn it all but have to remain patient.

As far as nutes, most in your situation use the SH nutes with good success. Others use General Hydroponic ( GH) Flora series and some use the Canna nutes among a lot of different variantions. Some use strait nutes and some use additives. For instance, I use GH Hard Water Micro because I have 400 PPM tap water. That's where the TDS meter gave me some info I needed to grow better. I also use cal-mag due to the fact that the hard water binds some calcium and magnesium and it needs to augmented to keep from getting a defiency. About my 4th grow I started using Liquid Karma and the LSD loved it and grew bushier. As you grow you will find different strains require different combinations of nutes but those levels staed here will work for over 90% of the strains just find. Just tweeking here and there, start out slow and see what happens. Learn to read what the plant is telling you. Lot of help here if things go sideways and info also in the FAQ of this site. Do you have Aero experience? That is somewhat similar inte basics but tend to present different problems then this system which is technically Deep Water Culture (DWC) with an assist with the feeding tube helping early veg to get teh roots in the water quickly. each grower is going to have their own style and enviroment to deal with and to me that's the fun in growing. Problem solving/problem prevention to improve yield and learn how to grow. Hope this helps.

Thanx MC if i was there i would catch you!LOl..If you fall put the chair..make sure you do it at like WAL-MART or sumthin!:-o
Just showin the reapings for growing in a BP unit!
