Bubble bag wash after dry ice extract?

Sooo, I did a dry ice extract in my bubble bags and am not happy with how much pulverized plant is in it. The act of shaking the bag with dry ice is hell on the plant material. I saw that Frenchy said that you could put hash in water to float the leafy bits while the trichomes settle out and then just scoop out the green.
Anyone tried to rerun hash with water in their bubble bags after doing a dry ice run? It seems like the same principle would apply with the trichomes dropping out through the mesh.

I think the latest reason to use the dry ice method is for making rosin, isn't it? Just take the dry ice sift and put it into a 25 micron mesh bag and then press it.

I'm not sure the ice/water-washing method would work...not sure how many intact heads you will get after all that agitation, for one thing. And who knows if that pulverized plant material will just end up getting stuck in the washing-screen, too? My guess is that you might just end up with bubble hash/plant mud and it wouldn't come out as a full-melt product.

If you're looking to get a full-melt dab type of material, then I think rosin is a better bet...but, hey, if you try the water-washing, then let us know how it worked! :)

Ha! Bubble hash/plant mud is EXACTLY what I got. There's almost no discernable color difference between 120 micron screen all the way down to 25 screen. It's all mud! LOL. Back to the drawing board.
Looks like this will have to be a non-polar extract since I don't have the means to press for rosin.

It's the bottom kief that I gave a whirl in the bubble bags. Actually, not even sure I'd call it kief! LOL.

Is that bottom pic your dry ice keif?

If so then you shook it out way way way way too long. Unless it was dry trim.

I make dry ice hash all the time. Best to use fresh frozen trim. Shake until you see the the start of green matter to come through the bags. Then full stop. I use a 180mc bag.

The pic is of one of my worst runs. I shook too long in a 220 bag. But it is still not bad.

The top pic is what I pulled with a 73 micron screen, the bottom is from beating the hell of out what was left in a more open screen. I think it was a 90 but may have been a 120. LOL. And it was all dry flower, no trim. I used a pound of MamaThai x Pineapple Chunk and a pound of MamaThai x ThaiStik. I had a bumper crop to play with and knew I had to destroy most of it to stay within legal possession limits so I was just experimenting. Sad story.
