Brown fuzz on bud

So after panicking through the hurricane and discovering that most of my girls survived, I discovered a brown fuzz that seems to be spreading through some of my bud and the leaves surrounding it. Not in a positoin to post pictures, but its a dirt colored brown and seems to cause wilting to some extent.

What should I do? is there a way from stopping it from spreading? should I just cut the parts that have it?

any one have any idea what im talking about?

but rot, molding, cut the infected areas and hope for the rest not to go. i woulndt adivse smoking the bud, some say water curing or making butter kilsl the spores, but im not into molded but in anyway

Ya, i actually managed to find some more information immediately after I posted this. Im positive its bud rot. Now the question is, do i cut into the cola a bit or just cut of the bud? is there anything I can use/do/spray to prevent it from spreading? is it worth trimming some of the leaves around the bud to make it less dense and allow more airflow? and how readily will the rot spread to adjacent plants?
