hey guys i was bending one of my plants so the light can hit my buds and clearly snapped the stem in half. cut off a good foot of the plant, what will happen. Its basically topped at about the 5th or 6th node.. what will happen to my plant?? i did use to top for a clone

will it lose bud production by a lot? should i keep it in flower or use it to breed with a male? plants are white widow.. have a male white widow outside...

Ouch dude. That's why I always waited an hour after I watered to train them because they are bendy that way. I snapped a few stems but I tied it back together with hemp string.

3 weeks into flower is kind of bad, but at least your not like 6 weeks into flower.

All you can do is take good care of it, if it just happened I would even suggest taking a razor blade to where the stem snapped and making the cut a little cleaner so it heals faster. But if it wasn't THAT recent then that might not be a good thing to do. Up to you, whatever you feel would be best.

But if you hadn't topped the plant and it was growing just one main cola, the bottom branches (everything below where it snapped) will just grow up more towards the top. Like topping. But because the plant is already into flower that stressed the hell out of it im sure. Be prepared for your plant to hermie.

In short: The damage will stress the plant, slowing growth and decreasing yield. The stress may also make it hermie. The branches below will grow upwards like when you top a plant.
You plant is probably reallly

so you already removed the top? if not just wrap some gauze around it and then tape over the gauze to hold it on and it will heal perfectly fine, probally within a week it would of healed up and gotten over it.......

How much bud production you loose depends on how bad the stress/damage is, and how well you take care of it.

Keep it in flower, 3 weeks is decently far along.

Your choice if you want to breed it with a male, sure you will get more WW seeds, but if the plant hermies and pollenates itself you will end up with seeds.

I had a branch that snapped pretty badly, I literally tied the branch to its own fan leaf with hemp string with beeswax on it (use it for smoking) and a week later it was mostly healed. Where the branch snapped is like 3x thicker than the rest of the stem and supports a HUGE bud for such a small stem.

I'm thinking u did cut it already? damn man, you should of asked us first, that plant would of healed up and been perfectly fine within a week or 2, ive broken more stems and branches than i can count and I've never had one that didnt survive and prosper, these plants are incredible in what they can survive and recover from, usually quite fast.

What 's a mistake youll never make?? I'm confused dude.

yea dude but it was clearly snapped clean off... u think it would have recovered??

HOW did you snap it clean off dude??? Was your branch dry as shit or what? usually its a large crack when someone breaks a branch, but never clean off

Yeah it COULD have recovered, would have been difficult though.

You would probably have to follow the same procedure as grafting. Grafting is basically taking a branch from one plant and attaching it to another plant. It's a little difficult to do RIGHT though.

a mistake ill never make is bending my pant and snapping it!!! and it wasnt dry it might have been since it was almost time for them to get water... But yea it snapped pretty good, i didnt think it would make it since it was such a big cut. anyway so what are my options? just let it grow? i think imma just throw it outside. i really only have room for 4 plants, and i had 5, well now back to four lol. im so sad man, that was like 2 months of 3 months of love and didication lol. here a pic of one of my other ladies thats still alive

damn thats a shame.. because that's a beautiful healthy looking plant bro.

don't count on it happening.. but you could try and reveg your plant... and hope for the best. I mean it is possible to do! I've seen it done.. but never had to do it personally.. but I know it can be done because I've seen it done.

What will happen more than likely.. is it will end up growing an extra chute from the main stem where it broke off from.. because in a way.. (I'm not 100% on this either.. so don't hold me to this..) this is what you would do.. when topping your plant. Only.. kinda different.. you follow what I'm saying?

Either way, give it a shot dude.. try and reveg the plant.. but your gonna have to be VERY patient because from the sound of it, your plant has just suffered a very traumatic event.. and I'm sure its shocked and stunned like a mother fucker. So be patient with it.. and try and bring it back to life.

Good luck dude.

yea its a shame dude this was like my second best lady!! lost like an ounce of kill lol.. i got a kid on the way so i guess im not gonna be bale to reveg it, since imma have too much family over for visits.... RIP lol........

Post a pic of the lady.

A plant doesn't just DIE when you snap a branch, more of the plant grows instead of the missing top.

Don't give up dude! Just keep growing her out :)

The pic you posted doesn't look like it's that far into flowering.

I wouldnt feel to bad, like you said you got them 4 and from the look of the plant you did show it looks like you got some beauties there. The one you hurt really isnt as bad off as you'd think, it will stop and heal its wounds real quick and then shoot off again, she might take longer but she could end up outweighing he sisters in the end, not likely, but ive seen it happen. If you toss it outside I'm 100% sure it will outweigh its sisters, probally by alot. it will go back into veg on its own and then flower like a normal outside plant, I'd transplant her into a bigger container though or dig a big hole and fill it with good soil, she's gonna be a monster.......

they are in five gallon containers.. i think i am gonna toss her outside with my two female clones lol. try the indoors and out. you got to understand tho i live in dallas tx lol. not the best weather.
