Bringing Out the PURPLE.....???

I seem to remember reading a thread where growers were discussing dropping the temperature to provoke a PURPLE strain (BuKU or something) to bring out the purple???
Many BuKu growers say their plants had nice, dense buds but didn't turn purple.

Is there a technique for causing this attractive colour trait to happen?

In your dark period get your temps down to lower to upper 50's .... Chlorophyll will degrade showing the colors underneath. Some strains will not respond.

This has nothing to do with potency or taste, it's just pretty bud / bag appeal.

I found the same temps outside tend to make the plants start to purple, right around 50F. Of course it's strain dependant also.

I didn't think it would affect potency but it looks good.
And, you know what stoners are like.....?
Turning up with a bag of something new, something different.
It's a BIG selling point.

Night temps need to be at 55F or lower. Don't go lower than 40F. You'll get a decent show.

Id do that temp drop at the last 3 weeks for good yield but also start feeding slightly colder water a lot of ppl forget that the water really counts.

I do it a few ways. The temp drop is the easiest most used way down to 50-55 F during lights out for 1-2 weeks at end of flower and give it 48 hours dark before cut. Purple max has worked for me at times with certain strains but the lower temp method works best for me.

Candy bud for some reason made my flowers turn purple never had it happen before and temps were always in 70s has this ever happen to anyone else?
