bringing in basil from outside? pic

i just added the pic of my basil garden because it seems everyone likes a post with a pic. my question is, ...I've heard basil is a deterrent for aphids and some other little pests, so i was thinking of harvesting some basil and putting it in a cup of water and place several of these cups around my grow room (veg area) and grow tent. would this just be a bad idea since you generally arent suppose to bring in things from outdoors into the grow room. i could even spray them down with some organic insecticide before placing them in the grow room. would this still be a bad idea. thanks

Aphids are ferocious little fuckers, when outdoor, they can still live in small amounts right off of thyme,basil,oregano plants ect.. If you put any insects near indoor cannabis then they will 99% navigate to the cannabis instead, i wouldn't risk it without quarantine and at that point its not even worth it.
