Has compost tea ever harmed you or anyone you know or have even heard of personally?
If so you are the first i've ever talked to..

Gut infections are a diarrhea-fest.
Like I said before I'm new to this whole organic thing. So there's a lot information out there I'm just trying to decipher it all. I'm really not that worried about it harming me. I'm more concerned about Brewing something that's going to have pathogens or bacteria that's going to destroy the healthy bacteria in my soil. Thanks everyone for any input I appreciate all of it

I believe the condition you're concerned about is teas or soil "going anaerobic", where very different bugs spring up in it because it's become deoxygenated. Airstones help prevent this, and even if it does happen, anaerobic bacteria are destroyed by oxygen so if it happens to your soil, you can just let it breathe.
That said, there's probably a healthy number of species in the herd that are pretty bad for you, if they managed to infect you....

Your concerns of possible harm are real if you are sloppy or have inquisitive children or house pets around. I normally don't wear gloves when "mixing up a batch" or "dosing" my garden. I DO wash my hands with soap and hot water after. I have dosed my garden washed my hands, and then fired up the BBQ and cooked right after. Went to work the next day, no big deal. I myself have a weak stomach due to dysentery systems from the service. So no, the fears you have are not crazy as long as this processes are done OUTSIDE the home with minimal sanitary accommodations. Good Luck!

when i make aerated tea i use 1/4 cup of castings, leaf compost, compost from food scraps, alaskan humus, soil from my garden, ounce or two of soluble kelp, humic acid, molasses, some alfalfa meal, kelp meal, and rock dust. have two plants now and give them .5 gal undiluted every other watering. i assume it works, havents experienced any adverse affects and they seem very healthy and happy. 3rd week of flowering atm
