need help with finding out the safest distance between a 600w deluxe cool sunmaster light and my plant flowering stage thanks in advance

I keep my 600 about 18-24 ideally but as some plants stretch upward it becomes about a foot away from the tops.

Pics? Current temps in the room? How about RH? Is there glass on the hood? Is it vented? Is the room vented? More info would be very helpful.
