Bloom boosters dtw?

On day one week 5 of flower tomorrow feeding jacks 321. I used a little MKP on week one of flower, and silica through veg, but apart from that it's just the 321. Everything started getting really sticky yesterday, buds all fattening up and sticking together where the osculating fan hits, good problems to have.

I'll be running without bloom boosters this time round, but was wondering if there is any need if you are feeding fresh nutrient each day, running off till ph and ec are corrected. Well in my case the rockwool croutons are dry each morning. Would there be any point adding more potassium or any other enhancer at this stage or do they get everything as the nutrient is fresh and abundant each morning?

Yeah I was looking at canna boost, similar price range and recommend 4 ml per litre. This really puts me off runnin dtw as I go through a 150 litre reservoir every couple of days, but I have a lot of run off, my thinking is if the plant uses everything it wants to eat then putting the run off back in the reservoir is depleted of what the plant is wanting at that point. And I use jacks 321 only which is cheap as hell, buds are stacking but don't want to regret not using something like boost or winter.

When do you use it, for how long and do you run off with it? (edit) also do you use it full strength?

I've found boosters to be useful running dtw, allows a little flexibility. I stick to a fairly level npk, that way I only need the one base nutrient, no grow / bloom etc. Calmag in veg gives the calcium and nitrogen boost for a strong veg, even pk for the transition, then the booster ups the pk a little at flower.
I've never used the recommended dose on pk booster, probably a 10th of the amount.

I haven't used Jacks before, do you already have all the salts you need, and can just fiddle with the ratios a little?

Yeah the 321 provides everything the plant needs but is a little heavy on N in flower, toward the end of flower they need more K and less N. I have mkp which I used, which is kind of a PK boost but I read you only need high phosphorus at the start of flower. Using a lot of PK to up the dosage of K gives too much P. Which is all a little over my head at the moment and happy enough with the way things are going not to start messing around with chemical ratios lol.

But my main point was, although the plant wants more K, if its got a daily replenishment is that enough, or does it use all the K up in an hour then waits for its next feeding

Canna boost and mel winter and the like is different though, they're more like teas I think and all the guys I know who grow use them, but not sure it's worth it, and if there's any point in hydro

Hey thanks! will take me a little bit to digest it. How does this compare to your veg nutes, do you have them handy? Are these ratios just your personal preference or they're cannabis specific if there's such a thing lol

I just added 1 teaspoon of MKP to 50 litres of fresh reservoir taking ec from 1.5 up to 1.6. Small but hopefully provides s little something extra

The left column...
I'm running a 1-part powder, Mega Crop.

Jack's being 2-part (3 if you include epsom), you have the advantage of being able to change the A/B ratio.
As well as the Epsom ratio.

For Jacks there would be two columns on the left. A and B.
You just need to plug in the elemental ppm for your Jacks.

Adding epsom is common to both.

Agreed. Intry to avoid big ppm swings. .1 or .2 max.

Calimagic because I use RO.

Hope that helps.

I go half on it. For two weeks. Think bottles say till before u flush. I'm half strength, two weeks. Normally 5-7 week or strain depending, 6-8 if I'm running 10 weekers.
Peace

I saw your post re: not hitting the brakes for 8 weeks. Excellent! I'm using your veg mix and the kids are loving it! I tried to find your bloom version but failed... would you post it or a link if I missed it?

You should see the bloom version attached just a few posts ealier in this thread. @ 5grams of MC plus other stuff per gallon.

Glad your veg is rockin on the MC!

I saw that post and convinced myself it wasn't a full bloom version since 0's in columns for Sweet Candy and Bud Explosion... my ASSumptin. Thanks for the clarity.

Trying to manage the K This run.

Mega Crop has high K out of the bag.
Sweet Candy contains K.
Bud Explosion contains K.

Last run I dicked around and overloaded on K.

Sweet Candy can reduce or eliminate epsom with its Mag and sulfer. I'm all out or I might be using it.

Where did you get these numbers? I did some testing a few months ago with 2 meters(2 brands) and have some different numbers.

1g Epsom per gallon = ~100ppm
1g MPK per gallon = ~65ppm
1.8g per gallon GL calmag = ~300ppm
1g a gallon MegaCrop = ~150ppm

Let me know
