So this is 14 days in bloom after 6 weeks in veg 3 out of 5 bag seeds and 1 clone of skunk, had to move my girls for 2 weeks and did not mean to veg so long.I will be adding 4 65w 2700K bulbs next week, they are getting 25% nuts once a week and are drinking 3qt of water every 3 days.so be for you ask about the mirrors check out the under growth in one pic from the bottum of the girls to the top nice dark green[I'M NOT A PHOTAAG] AND NO HOT SPOTS FROM THE MIRRORS.They were cheap at wally world[$21.00 all 4]So i do think that mirrors are the the way to go for the best lite penatration with CFL's.

6 x 85w 5500lums 5000k
2 x 65w 3900lums 2700k
4 x 23w 1700lums 6500k

nutes are 3 part GHP

veged under 24 hour of lite
bloom under 12/12 lite

Yeah the little 65 wat lights are about $10 each at homedepot. Not enough there to do a decent flower figure you need 6 per plant. The mirros are a bad idea sd you loose light as mirrors dont reflect light well they disperse its intensity so you actually loose about 50% of the light that hits it and it can cause an uneven heat dispersment. You can get the actual grow cfls online or on ebay. Can get actual 200 watt cfls not equal but actual 200 watt cfls for about $28 each

ive heard a lot about mirrors not being good reflectors, white is the "best" surface. i just have one comment, how come when you shine a flashlight on a mirror you see it's reflection (on lets say a wall) is seemingly 100%. or if you shine a laser pointer, the beam is completely reflected? if you shine a flashlight or laser pointer a white wall, seemingly nothing is reflected. im not trying to say FF is wrong. most ppl say what he says, but in practice, i cant for the life of me figure out why this is true.

one more point, if you watch shows about asteroids/comets hitting the earth, one plan for NASA is to build a giant mirror to reflect the sun's rays to burn a hole in the asteroid/comet, thereby creating a jet of gas, from which will push the object out of the orbit on line w. earth. they dont say they will use a white surface to reflect the sun...how come?

I believe the idea is flat white reflects the light back in all directions whereas a mirrored surface will focus the reflection

It's not the actual light. It's the refracted light. Put a light into crystal and you can see the different spectrums......What I've read here, white Mylor seems to be popular
Good luck

i guess that's true about mirrors, the light is not dispersed at all, but if you think about it, when the light from a bulb reaches the plant, it is pretty well dispersed, in other words, it's not focused like a beam from a flashlight or laser pointer. the dispersed light will then reflect as dispersed light. im not against using white surfaces or mylar as reflective surfaces ive just hard for me to believe that mirrors are not good reflecting surfaces.

anyways, not trying to bust anyone balls here, just giving my 2cents.

the light reflecting through the glass can be to hot and focused....this will burn the plant....its not the reflective material behind the glass that does the damage its the glass its refracting through.....

the mirror its not a good reflector, and when a flashlight, or light bulb light is reflected the mirror uses ass the light and reflects it into a small spot, the white walls or mylar reflect more light but more disperse.

well not sure about reflected or refracted lite just fucking sure that my shit looks damn good next to other grows on this site!!! NOT HATEING just observent.I have i HID grower coaching me and he was damned impressed with my girls. So i say grow how you grow you know.So if you have a better way lets see the pics[put up or shut up].Well almost time to check my girls will post new pics later.

so 21 days into bloom wath do you think.

Only if the mirror has a direct line of sight to the bulb... anything hitting the floor at least would already be refracted from the plants being there.

Well it's been 30 days now and all is looking very good, the girls are getting very stinky.
