This thread pertains more to the "for profit growers" but would like your opinion even if your growing only for yourself. I don't understand this delusion that top tobacco and even coffee companies are going to produce cannabis that rivals with Mexican brick weed. This has been mentioned several times and everyone comes to the conclusion that it will be shit weed and carelessly grown. Why is Marlboro the best selling cigarette or how does Starbucks get away with six dollar coffee? Why do you think this way, where does this idea come from?
So do you think you can compete with names like Altria, British American Tobacco, Remolds American, Inc, Imperial Tobacco, Philips Morris International?
They have access to resources that no one can compete with, they're global, they have employees that will work harder and longer for pennies on the dollar. You have places like Philippines, Thailand, China, Vietnam, etc that have perfect climates for cannabis cultivation. They can hire armies of employees for nothing to meticulously look over outdoor crops. Not to mention billion dollar indoor grows, wholesale electricity and materials. They will be churning out tons of cannabis daily that will rival with finest grown at home and maybe even advance the cultivation techniques in the process.
Now again this is all hypothetical and dependent on legalization but I just don't see if any of the above companies trying to compete with each other churning out shit. I see cheaper brands being of lesser quality but I think we will see some primo stuff. Anyway what's your thought?
