big buck ($100+) strain wishlists?

there are some really great strains out there you have to spend a few dollars more to get the best or original versions of as well as a few top breeders who charge top dollar for their gear.

what are those $100+ strains you wish you had in your gardens? these are some of the most interesting looking ones going by my tastes & without reading up on everything out there (like maybe someone still has western winds with the pepper flavor intact somewhere). i'd expect most of these to be worthy of testing & breeding. pretend amongst yourselves...

G13 Haze x Buddha's Sister - SOMA $182
Kali Mist - Serious $108
Grape Krush - DJ Short $131
Old Timer's Haze - Ace $135
Granddaddy Purple - Granddaddy Purple $99
Blue Dynamite - Next Generation $101
Ed Rosenthal Superbud - Sensi $208
Fruity Juice - Sensi $147
Jack Herer - Sensi $224
Amnesia Haze - SOMA $256

i actually have 2 G13 haze x buddha's sister beans and a kali mist in my collection. the ideal would be all 3 are still viable and there's one each m&f in the sisters and that the kali is a female. i would like original kali mist more than the mellower fruity re-do out now. there are so many fruity strains out there already. the original flavor was slap ya hard delicious. no pain, no happy brain. i doubt i have an original.

i think it'd be easy to re-engineer a better fruity juice without using afghani and using a fast high leaning strain like C99 or a jack or haze along with a pure tutti fruity highland thai. throw some purple in, and you have ultraviolet haze. is that a cool name, or what? a couple generations with grape krush back crossing to thai would be nice.

what do i care about dollars? i just want to smoke better than cash crap. i've found a really nice top 3 strains and bet it'll have to be a top 4 once i try malawi gold.

i guess you'd call my stony grapes and pine bagseed funny money. they were free and worth testing when i get around to a flavor grow. i'm really liking good old lemon myself these days. malawi cleaner anyone? haze skunk cleaner? sour grapes haze? 50 day haze?

the only cleaner i have until bodhi genius is back on shelves is JC2 x C99 x A11 (JCCA112?) it seems like it's been sold out for at least 4 months by now.

i like the nick name seattle for sativa trans-love crosses. seattle slew for grimm crosses? satellite haze?

yeah, dogie's nuts wins the auction at southersby's award for top dollar. has anyone don and DN's crosses yet?

Those expensive strains cost a lot because suckers will pay the price for them. Do yourself a favor, next time you buy an expensive pack, spend 30/40 bucks on a pack from Peakseedsbc and do a comparison, you'll be shocked. Great genetics don't need to be expensive.

my second favorite strain is $28 high quality seeds' haze x skunk. it's super potent, long lasting, and tolerance resistant motiivational fun that would especially appeal to blunt smokers for it's mild cheesy cigar wrapper notes, but the buzz is so medicinal it makes you fast by ignoring hunger & finding something funner or more productive to do.

i agree that the $50 or so and under range is full of top quality gear to satisfy any taste. i don't think too many sativas are going to have as much boundless energy OR blissed out not unlike shroomed out euphoria of kali mist any more than textbook cinderella. good luck finding dr greengenes' original cherrybomb thai. not too many cherry strains out there.

nothing else i've looked at sounds as good a building block for a grape tasting purple tinted haze as shorts' grape krush. i'm not impressed with stony skunk #1 similar blueberry and like hazes to thai better, but grape krush is about ESSENTIAL for next generation purple hazes until someone makes something even closer. TGA's plushberry is a decent next best for exactly that. grape krush is worthy of finding keeper males and females for adding up, grape & purple to whatever. it's totally my kinda blueberry. i bet it could turn out a few super crosses on the way to trippy purple grapes haze 2.

(sweet haze x jack's cleaner 2) x grape krush would not be shabby, i'm sure
purple haze x grape krush might be a nice starter strain too

so many purple strains are indica dominant and grape is a rare flavor. getting that out of a super cali haze UFO under a halide gave me a woody last year. i like grape better than blueberry and the trippiest haze high possible. sweet haze is a good start there. sweet haze x grape krush would be nice. any fruity jack or haze would go nice with the flavor & color selection of that strain. i think i want to get some for 2nd harvest after i get some head stash and jacks cleaner crosses

Who you kidding hazy? You have in the recent past admitted to not hardly smoking anything in the past twenty years other then the nodes from your failed grows?

Correct me if I am wrong :peace:

You might want to take that Grandaddy Purple off your list, it is indica dominate. I am the fool growing it so I can fuse with my couch. Told you man, Panama is all you need.

buying these strains is simply a waste of money...they are no better than good genetics at a FAIR price....some of the best shit i ever grew was the cheapest you can get white skunk by white label like 24 dollars a pack and that shit was uniform fast growing good pot!! most strains that are over 100 dolalrs are just a name waiting to prey on the unsuspecting with VERY few exceptions, and still im happier saving the money and just picking up something else im interested in....especially this doggies nuts bs i would never buy from those fools 300 a pack hahahahaha get real..not to mention their company is named dog nuts i cant respect and buy a product coming from dogs nuts

hey, i'm a cheapskate too and am not going to be buying any doggies nuts beans no matter how awesome anyone says they are. $28 haze skunk is no strain's bitch. i love it. it's good meds.

that doesn't mean i won't pay a few extra dollars for strains that have must have qualities. a purple, trippy, grape flavored haze is an aesthetic ideal i'd like to see realized. no one has done exactly that just yet, but after getting a nice grape taste out of super cali haze if not a trippy world class buzz under a halide was inspirational to me. i liked the taste much better than blueberry. bitter berries aren't my thing anyways. raspberries in particular are nasty to me.

grape krush is a must have strain for me unless someone works it into a haze themselves. i'd even be inclined to breed THAT back to tutti fruity highland thai and start a haze without panama and columbian and instead use lemony malawi or a super trippy cambodian.

it's a supply and demand biz. if you supply something desirable enough, people will pay whatever you ask. for breeding, starting with the best ingredients from the start is the way to do it. with a name like hazey grapes, grape krush was almost made for me.

i bought $110 kali mist a few years back too because that authentic crushed red pepper flavor in the original is still the most delicious strain i've smoked to this day and that blissed out energy rush buzz isn't shabby either. that was an essential strain for breeding a spicy orange curry haze i wanted to make with a cali-o. i think i got the watered down fruitier remake, but would pay $100 for that flavor again. it's an essential for breeding. i still intend to look for a peppery strain. rokerij's amnesia haze was more fruity than spicy and a lot like typical hazes.

yeah, it would be really nice if you could get $20 cup winner fems, but not all breeders offer them. as someone whose only motivation is growing the best head stash possible, i'm willing to spend a few extra dollars for must have strains. if the strain really is distinctive enough, it merits a premium. then it's up to breeders to take the gear and make knockoffs or crosses and pass the value on. there's a reason blueberry has been used in hundreds of crosses. there's also a reason people keep buying it from DJ and nowhere else.

haze skunk is awesome high for sure, but JC2 is that much awesomerer. it's worth $10 a bean (really $100 for $10) and then some for that strain. i've tried a lot of other strains including a few more expensive ones and nothing compares. i consider it a value. in the long run, 1/2 that price holy smokes malawi gold is probably better, but it's not as fast or proven yet.

it's just like making food, it sucks when you skimp on the ingredients.

i'll try any top 10 strain that gets you high i can. if someone has a $40 haze that knows no equal, i'd love to try it. until then, i'll pay whatever my favorites are selling for as i likely didn't pay much over for $50 for them to begin with unless they were an awesome freebie like sativa trans-love and it's fruity haze making cash crop budding speed. i will buy it again for sure. fortunately it's only $50 for 5 beans, but for what it does with the nice if not exceptional buz that comes with the package, it's an essential building block i'd pay twice the price for without blinking now that i've seen it in action. i blinked, and then there were buds. WOW!

there IS a difference in quality between strains and even breeders. 3 out of 3 DNA strains i've tried have been clearly above average with attention to all details in flavor, THC profiles and overall quality. i'll spend a few dollars to try their cannalope haze some day as it might become my new favorite. their sweet haze is clearly above average. their lemon skunk was way more refined than the afghani dominant skunk #1 i'd smoked before. even their stony sour cream impressed me by being super delicious.

i'd call $100 for a world class strain "fair market value" and anything in the $50 range an amazing bargain. not a fan of the $150+ range. there are some very good breeders up there though like mr nice whose fans will accept no substitues for. medicine man has a loyal following.

wow just got done at another thread saying "hey hazey stop posting page long posts on every damn thread its just annoying and noone reads it" then i clicked this to see what had been said last...fml i just cant win

lol...i didnt no you can mute ppl....im just giving u shit man...you have to admit your the only person with an average post longer than my...well u get the rest ;D

most strains that are over 100 dolalrs are just a name waiting to prey on the unsuspecting with VERY few exceptions,

I couldn't disagree more... Super Silver Haze by Mr Nice is got it's popularity by being phenom... as did Kali Mist, when was the last time you read a post about a bad batch of Jack Herer (I'm sure there is one and i'm sure it was grower error), not a lot of people AK from Serious seeds.

Yes there is great bud at much reduced prices, but to say that most $100 are just a name is silly.

no its really not what i mean is good luck tracking down who has the orginal and best say purple haze, or panama red, or northern lights...one example is white rhino which come to find out that white rhino isnt even called white rhino anymore its called medicine man now because the name got saturated and the original breeder wanted to seperate himself from the rest..again..lol....however even though you can find some of these at the 100 dollar mark and they are fire (the exceptions i speak of lol) you can find the same damn name at 5 other breeders for the same or more sometimes and its just not killer shit and those 5 are riding off the name imo at least..

the best genetics you can get for the price are usually within the 25-200 range, and this depends on whom you make your purchase from as well. you will be hard pressed to get a better deal than what is available at Sanniesshop.com

i figure after this harvest, i'm going to give tga and some of my other fav's a break and start growing strictly sannies gear for a year or two, the stuff will not dissapoint. smoking on some Killing fields 2 months Cured and i'm itching to try more of those breeders choice seeds!

i can't bring myself to grow killing fields or jack the ripper based on the names and my pacifist belief system, that stops at the point where self defense becomes necessary anyways. i've seen a lot of happy growers with that and ripper. i like cleaner fine enough as is as well as haze skunk and sweet haze.

if i get anything from sannies, it'll be jack or shackzilla unless they do a KF cross and give it a neutral name. until then, the malawi gold is probably already more than i need. i'm leaning towards more neutral and mellow buzzes nowadays.

really, i want to play around with breeding my own crosses. man, it would be so cool to just move to canada and do serious breeding and lots of testing of the best stuff out there. i really like DNA gear. i almost got rid of my 2 LAcon regs because of the odor issue, but someone here said i really should try it.
