best time to take cuttings

morning all i was just wondering whats the best time to take cuttings. i.e just after the light has come on .just before it go's off. or just after a watering with/without nuets. as they seem to be ok in the propagator just after a 2-3 weks when i put them under the big lights .as this is my first grow ive been reading up but not much luck yet


i seem to be having a little trouble with my cuttings i dont seem to be having much sucess.any help would be very welcome i have a few pics the first is my mom with 2 seedlings that are also going to be moms and one cutting alive. the other is of some super lemon haze cuttings (a few weeks old now)i had to buy . and a couple of shots of my props with a few cutting in them. the mom is under a 600w hps and the lemon haze 2x 600w

edit . could not get the pics in order and the mom was a little thirsty thats why she not look 2 happy i missed he watering for a day . and to take cuttings do you use alcohol to steralize scaple/blade before taking the cuttings and do you wait to see roots before potting them

Fore sure just after a straight watering, and not too soon days wise after any chemical feedings. As far as what time of day, I usually do mine in the evening, but when I am cloning I am on a 24 hour cycle, and the clones are set down away from intense light.

thx for the reply will give that a try them few cuttings in the pics were to pratice i need to start the lemon haze into flower soon. as im running out of space and i need to take 100 or so cuttings from them
what about how sterile you have your blade ive tried a few diffrent ways but only had 1 clone live so far and that was yesterday when i took the pic

I use a new blade every time I cut, I do nothing special to the blade to make sterile.

You didn't state in your original post if you are using any rooting hormones/powders/gels?

If not then go buy some!

If you're struggling to clone and you need to take 100, I'd go ahead and take about 130/150 just to be safe.
