Best strains for September harvests?

Would the plants get adequate sun with 50% shade cloth on 24/7? At my spot there is uninterrupted sun from 10ish-7
What would be the objective? Would it help flip your plants faster? I dunno.

One thing I do know is that the plants I have outdoors in smaller plots of soil ALL were harvested weeks before the identical strains grown in my greenhouse in 5' x 5' plots of soil. So I think if a person used 100g smart pots you would harvest much sooner than letting the plant grow unlimited roots in a huge plot of soil.

I already have a row cover lol it will help at night, it. Water still sleeps through so it’s breathable and won’t get too humid. I’m just hoping I can leave it on 24/7 for most of the summer that’s all. I think it would be beneficial during the hottest weeks of summer also as it will give the plants some relief... come late August it would not be in use... at least during the day

I’m almost positive I’m buying some 6 mil black plastic to black out a few hours early for the month of August to ensure a decent harvest... will be a real pain but well worth while I’m thinking

I thought of that too. If I could keep my plants indoors until the end of June I could literally just run the lights 18 or 20 hours a day until they go outside. I just don't want to run plants indoors until the end of June, gets too hot and I'd need to run A/C just to keep them going.
If you are interested in this topic, you may want to research cannabis phytochrome / far red light response and how they affect plant circadian rhythm and flowering

I have done more than my share of research on this topic as well as running growmau5 initiator pucks in my tent among other things. How do you think it relates to outdoor growing and getting your plants to initiate flowering faster?

Excellent. I'd like to benefit from your research / experiences with the initiator lights, (never used them) , but curious about them. Do you think they'd be useful in a small outdoor backyard application? Were they beneficial indoors?

As far as initiating flower outside faster, I'm sometimes working in the opposite direction at about 44* north. I've got some that might flower too quickly (probably genetics causing this).

Trying to keep the quick to flower girls (M.O.B., Iranian and Iranian dominant crosses) in veg until after the solstice and prevent the dreaded "half flowering / half vegging" thing or outright flowering too early before the plants gains any size. Problem is, it takes up a lot of space and creates heat to veg them inside. So I'm considering putting them outside soon and using supplemental lighting for the next month for a few hours to prevent them from flowering right off.

As far as initiating flowering early, since the light dep thing may not work for me, my plan was to let genetics be my savior and go heavy on Iranian crosses to get some early finishers. Had some success with getting some C99 X Iranian crosses to finish in early September last year, so I've popped more from the same seed run, hoping for a repeat. I'm a pollen chucker and get lucky sometimes. They veg outside under normal sunlight pretty well until about the 4th of July when they started flowering like crazy, but don't finish real big, (nice 5-8 ounce back yarders) .

Your feedback on the initiator lights may have me considering using them for some normal photo period plants outdoors.

Guy quoting my post about having plants done by October said it's not possible to be done that soon in the northern hemisphere. Said I must have magic beens.lol Looks like you got some too!! Not all my strains are done that early. But the same ones are every year like clock work.

I'm pretty confident most of the "magic" C99 x Iranian pollen chucks this year will finish between late August and mid September. Third year running them, second with this seed batch, if they perform on time again, it'll be time to make some feminized seeds.

Trying a couple Lemon Tart x Iranians this year, untested so far, but if they make it past mold etc., I'm betting they'll be late September, early October. The Haze in the Lemon Tart makes me think that. One way to find out... :bigjoint:

Haze is gonna be tuff to get done early that's for sure
Hoping the particular Iranian male used to pollinate the Lemon Tart will pull in the time. It was the same one that pollinated the C99s that finished quick.

Will be checking mold resistance too, whether I want to or not, where these girls are going will see heavy mist. If they show some vigor, their seed mates probably get popped next year

I got C99 Fast version, and C99 x Blueberry Fast version to try.
I grew Killer Kush Fast version from Sweet Seeds A few years a go, and it finished last week of September. It was very potent, and taste/smelled awesome. I got some more of those coming, but it's been 25 days since they shipped. Here is a pic of the Killer Kush

I'm in Nova Scotia
With the hot summers we have been having, I think these will do pretty good. I got 3 of each

C99 x Blueberry Feminized Seeds ( fast )!
This amazing Indica hybrid takes the short flowering sativa Cinderella 99 with the original Indica Blueberry.

The result is a heavy yielding, fast strain that requires little manicuring.
Buds are densely covered with trichomes and resin nugs and flower within about 45 days.
If you are going outdoors then you can harvest in Mid September

Cinderella 99 Fast Version Feminized Cannabis Seeds
The fast version of the Cinderella 99 strain we also carry, you can expect a flowering time of approximately 6 weeks indoors. These are not autoflowering cannabis seeds; they merely speed up the flowering time for faster harvest yields. This means you’ll be able to harvest weeks sooner than the original Cinderella 99 strain would normally allow.

Considered the holy grail of cannabis strains, Cinderella 99, or C’99, is a phenomenon of a plant. What’s special about this speedy growing version is that it takes on the same high and taste as a similar landrace sativa – that normally takes about half a year to flower properly.

Instead of 6 months, or even the 6 to 7 weeks you must wait for the original C’99, this fast version is ready in 4. From seed to full-blown maturity, 4 weeks is one of the fastest flowering times that we offer.

On top of the astounding speed in which this fast version of C’99 matures, the top of the buds are heavily sugar-coated. An impressive specimen for its trichome profile alone, we look at the two exceptional parent plants that put this variety together. Crossed from Pineapple and Grapefruit, both derived from the original Brothers Grimm C’99, we’re taken full circle for how this strain was created.

Hopefully the plants turn out great for you, but that add contradicts itself and doesn't really seem legit. 4 week flowering time frankly sounds absurb.

I noticed that, but they mean 4 weeks till the plant is mature. Ready to start flowering.
6-7 weeks for flower

4 weeks is very quick. I have heard normal C99 is ready to flower fast. Wondering if the 4 weeks is hype or an outlier though and if most of the fast version are ready to flower after 6 weeks, which is still damn quick.

I'm intrigued about the hardiness and potential size of the fast version, where can seeds of this version be found ?

I got them from i49 $19 a seed, or $35 for 3. They Ship from BC.
Well they will be here Tuesday. I did order seeds from the UK like 4 weeks ago, and they still haven't came, or I would already have some going.

I'm hoping the C99 don't start stretch till mid July so they can get some size. From the reviews I read, the description is accurate.

The Killer Kush Fast version from Sweet Seeds started stretch first, or second week of July. It's stronger than C99 for sure. lol

I haven't seen a lot of feedback on i49. A little leery of unknown seed banks and I may have just been had by Pacific Seed Bank (not 100% sure yet) so I'll probably pass, for now.

Not trying to disparage your choice though, please let us know how it works for you? Good luck.

You can get them, at other seedbanks in Canada
I just went by the reviews on the seeds from i49. C99 Blueberry has awesome reviews from germinating, to how fast they are.
C99 doesn't have many reviews but I will I find out. lol I'm sure they will be great.
The seed order that I was hoping to get a while ago, has Female Seeds C99 in it. I grew that before.

My seeds shipped the very next day, and in Canada. Pacific Seedbank is overseas?

Pacific is in California. I can't recommend them, but I'm still trying to determine if they cashed and dashed and sent no seeds or if they never got my money order and they're not at fault. That was my reasoning for not wanting to try another unproven bank, at least for now. Thanks for your feedback and good luck with things this season.

Maybe they are at Customs with the order I've been waiting on. lol
