Best Strain For Me?

Ok so my first grow will be in my closet in my apartment (note: APARTMENT). So I need a strain that is decently small, high potency and good yield. Some strains I have been looking at are:

Top 44
Afghan
Cali Orange Bud
Ice

Is their any other good strains that will be ideal for growing in a closet grow room?
 
Wow that arjans haze #3 looks AMAZING! I might have to try that for my first grow! It says it's Sativa though, isn't that harder to grow indoors?
 
just orederd white rhino from ghs the femmed variety, they dont grow to tall and the smoke is potent. was planning on 4 in area 3x3x6, have been told this is not a problem. how big is your closet? have you considered a scrog??

That's my problem I just got a call last week saying my original apartment I looked at was given away (didn't get the deposit in on time) so now I have to pay for a more expensive one so I should have a decent sized closet, hopefully. What is a scrog?
 
scrog is where a screen is suspended above the medium ( say 10 inches ) and the
plant is allowed to grow though the screen and then pulled back through and trained into a diffenent direction, what happens is come flowering you should have an even canopy of buds all receiving the same amount of light, this means you utilise your horizontal space instead of the vertical space. there is more to it but that is the gist.

scrog = screen of green, 2 oz psf has been realised in a scrog!!!!!

look into greenhouse seeds co they got pretty cheap seeds right now for only 29 USD for 5 femin seeds........i just picked up A.M.S from greenhouse and since ive already done 2 nirvana grows i wanna see just how good greenhouse's are as in yield/potency.......:joint:
 
that is the pricipal, shame there isnt a forum on scrogging at riu. but yes you use the screen to train and it offers plant support, its better to do it with clones because of the uniformity. you allow the screen to fill to say about 70 percent before inducing flowering ( dependent on strain ). i have read up thoughrally on it ( although never put into practice ) and i think there is a little section on it in grow FAQ, but not a great deal, but if you have any specific questons i think i can answer quite safetly!!!!
 
if growing arlan haze ud have to go 12/12 from seed maybe??

what height do u have to play with? what lights?
 
oh rite your fine so u dont have to start with 12/12 u can veg a bit..

u said in your first post that u wanted a short plant that why i asked

that sounds like a good strain alright

people have scrogged arjans haze before, you can scrog anything.

BTW i dont think you would yeild much if you went 12/12 straight frm seed on any strain, just my 10 cents peace.
 
i know your yield would b low then, but i was just thought that u did not have height enough to grow a mostly sativa plant after u said that u want a short plant

but after u told me that u have 6tf height i said its fine to veg for a few weeks......

only time will tell, ever heard of kali mist, apparently the most sativa dominant strain available 90%, other than true f1s, i would love to scrog it !!!
 
ppl will ahve different opinions on this

i use 24/0 for veg cause its faster,

ppl mainly use 18/6 cause they think that it is more natural
