Best Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System (for ~40L/week)

I am only growing in a 2'x4' footprint and only go through about 40L per week, what would you recommend as the best RO water filtration system for the relatively small quantity of water I need?

I hear that the cheap kits are not worth it but I don't need enough RO water to justify one of the expensive systems.

check out hydrologic
i run the stealth 150 and ill make maybe 20-30gal a week. you want something with a higher output than you need like rhe 150 stands for.150gal/day which is what it can make if its runnining 100%
ill get a 5gal every 45mins or so

I also have a stealth RO 150.
I filter my 250+\- ppm well water
I only use it in my hempy buckets and drinking water.
10-15gal a week
Takes about 1.5hr to fill a 5gal. But my water pressure is not in the best range.

I get about a year out of my filters.

No issues with it at all over 3-4 yrs

I use the hydrologic stealth r-150 also. 70 gallons a week.
Tap water is 280ppm 6.8ph.
I haven't changed my filters for almost 6 months and PPM is 75 right now.

I recommend hydrologic aswell. I use the 1000. Takes about an hour for 40 gallons.

Have any of you seen, used or know anything about their Hydrologic 75 Compact RO System here?:

It's almost $300CAD for the 150gallon ones you guys have posted and that is way overkill for me, I will only need like 9 gallons (grrr imperial :D) per *WEEK*. The $180 price tag of the 75 one is closer to my budget I just don't know how it differs from the 150 gallon one.

I can't find the Koolermax AR-122 you suggested anywhere in Candaa @legalizeit.

Thanks for all your advice

The problem with a cheap RO system is they're usually a 1:3 or 1:4 filtered water to waste water. That means a cheap system will dump 3-4 gallons of water down the drain to make a single gallon of RO. That is horribly inefficient and wasteful. If you are only using 9 gallons per week you should just buy a jug dude. Hell, go to wal mart once or twice a month and just grab a few while you're doing some grocery shopping. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Save your money on an RO system until you're ready to get something of quality that will give you a 1:1 ratio so you're not dumping 3 or 4 gallons of water down the drain just to make a single gallon of RO when your needs increase. I own this which is a 150GPD water saver model for $265. I was unable to find another unit anywhere with matching specifications, quality, and price. I plumbed it to my kitchen sink with a tank and RO faucet as well as to a 1 gallon rubbermaid pitcher in my basement for drinking water. This is on top of my 3 32 gallon reservoirs on float valves. I get my money's worth out of the unit :)

Check out BRS https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/

They’ve got different sizes and different setups. You can start with a cheaper less efficient model and slowly upgrade as you go,all the models can be added to.
I love BRS. I order my Neptune brand PH probes from them. $75 each and I'd never buy another brand. Bullet proof reliable. Rapid response. It seems all of their gear is very high quality. The packaging that came with my RO unit was like something from NASA. It was very impressive how much care they put into transport of the unit to ensure it's safe arrival. The unit inside the packaging was just as impressive in quality and performance.

I’ve just got a 5 stage 75GPD unit but I’m gonna buy a booster pump and the water saver kit this paycheque View attachment 4880507View attachment 4880509
Compliments to you on the plus model! The TDS meter and pressure gauge are a very nice touch. They were out of stock on the plus model when I ordered mine so I was lucky they at least had the standard 150gpd water saver. That booster pump will get your production up nicely. The building never ends, right? :)

Check out BRS next time you're in the market. I've had my 150GPD water saver 1:1 model for nearly a year now and I haven't changed any filters. Still 0PPM. I go through around 100-120 gallons of water per week. I have changed the deionization resin once, but that's all. The water saver model has 2 RO membranes, a sediment filter, 2 carbon flocks, and a final deionization chamber. I can't say enough good things about the unit and the company that sells it. I looked at hydro logic when I was shopping and for some reason I opted against their unit. I can't recall why. It may have been the waste water to clean water ratio.

I ordered mine 7 years ago when I had 40+ aquariums running it’s gone up a lot in 7 years

It’s decent sized that’s for sure.
This is a 5 stage unit and I’ll be upgrading to a 6 unit.

Edit-If money and space are the factors I believe they sell 3 stage units that are less efficient but less money and are a-pinch smaller, then later down the road you can upgrade by just plugging new stages inline

it might be most effective cost wise to buy 1-5 gallon jugs of water until you can save up for a 5 stage unit, less efficient units produce a lot of waste water, it’s fine to me I use the waste water in my yard
