i was wondering, what would be the best type of reflective material to use? such as mylar or white black sheets (or whatever they are called lol)

I use that shit that people put in there windscreen because it reflects light and heat

I heard not to do that because the light relfecting off the mirrors is at a very high intensity and can easily burn holes in your leaves. I use reflective insulation and it works wonders

No, Panda film is a plastic sheet that is black on one side and white on the other.
I use those windshield reflectors you are talking about on the for under my pots.. it's ok to use it because the surface is reflecting light and you won't run into it folding and concentrating light to make hot spots. Not super great, but IMO better than nothing.
I was being a bit of a smart ass when I asked to see pics, he's obviously full of it, I was just trying to be nice while calling him out on it.
Mirrors aren't good for the room. They do reflect light obviously, but I'd have to do research on how, and how much to try and be 100% accurate as to the rational.. I just know that if you could use it, don't you think there'd be a whack of hippies who still use those old mirror tiles that were the rage in the 80's?
i read mirrors eat more light than they reflect.. i think mylar it is then!
Mylar also has to be pulled tight to try and be as much like a mirror surface as possible.

White paint is cheap and easy and reflects 85%. I'm not willing to go to all the trouble of mylar in an effort to improve on 85%.

Mylar/Foylon are the best, at 98% reflectivity.
Second to that, good ol' flat white is the way to go.
