Best Long Term Storage Method

Hey everyone,

Apologies if this has been asked and answered already or if I am posting in the wrong forum. I did a quick search and couldn't find any solid answers here. Searching google just produces too much info. I'd rather asked more experienced people here.

So I had a very nice harvest from an outdoor grow and I don't smoke that much. I would like to store my harvest for long terms. We are talking 3-12 months. I've tried vacuum sealing in a mason jar but they still seem to dry out in there.

I currently store my bud in a cigar box in their vacuum sealed jars with Boveda RH packs inside the cigar box, and still seem to have my bud dry out on me.

Thank you in advance for any and all comments!

Put 58% or 62% boveda packs in the mason jar. You were so close, you have all the ingredients.

ohhh that seems pretty obivous! duh! I figured since I had the RH packs inside the humidor the entire humidor environment would maintain the RH, but ya that makes alot more sense.

Thought I’d give my two cents... keep in mind I’m a casual smoker nowadays and get high off one hit, been smoking for 20+ years and have some experience.

I just recently smoked my last bud from an oz I had from 1.5 yrs ago, and it was still pretty fresh and tasted great tho I’m probably not as picky as some of you. I’m really not part of the whole strain and flavor craze, I still just like good quality bud that has been cured properly that’s about all I care about.

I always store it in a freezer bag inside a jar wrapped in a junk T-shirt to keep light out. I keep mine in the basement so probably a constant 60-70 degree temp. That is it, high heat and light degrades thc so keep it away from that.

Edit: maybe try not vacuum sealing, if it’s cured right it should stay fresh on its own if just in a sealed jar.
