best light time

hey everyone im just starin a grow and was wondering, how long should the light be on and off for the best growth rate cheers data

18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower. Plants need 12 hrs of sleep in flower cycle. The bestt time to have your lights on is up to you, my timer is set during the cheap energy hours!

I've read in a bunch of places that 24/0 is the best to start your plants off with in veg, and then obviously 12/12 for flower..

You can definately go 24! I have yet to see definative proof of an advantage to 24 over 18/6. Not saying there isn't proof, just aint seen it!

Hmm I have a question about light time too..I have mine set to 20/4 is that bad? I'm wondering because my plant is growing extremely slow..

I agree, this is what I go by and it has never failed me yet.

Most will say 24.. then 12/12 flower... I did 18/6 for veg... worked great... 17/7, 16/8.. as long as the cycle stays the same...... I do it for sleep reasons..
12/12 flower ....

I believe that the vegging plants need a rest period. 18/6 is good.
12 /12 flowering Make sure the dark period is uninterrupted.

Well, twisty, what do you think about his 20/4? I haven't tried or heard of. Could it be causing his slow growth?

Some people grow at 18/ 12...The possibilities are endless it is like the lottery. I do not like to gamble much so I would stick with what works for me.

if you want whats tried and true then its 18/6 veg 12/12 flower


my lights are 18/6 veg
6/12 bud

18\6 promotes better root growth than 24\0 but both work fine and anything in between

12\12 flower no acceptions unless autoflowering strain
