Best light for Vegging?

I was wondering what has been the best light u guys have used for vegging plants? Also any methods to speed up vegging process??

For less money you could use Florescent T-8 bulbs with 5000k to 6500k color spectrum.

105w 5000k florescents are awesome for veg and throw very litte heat.

You almost can't beat a 1000 watt Metal Halide! But you do have to deal with heat and extra on the electric bill.

The best light I used for veg was a mh bulb. I've used t5,t 12,cfls,hps and mh and mh is by far the best.
Begging under hid would be a better choice IMO.
There's no real way to speed up the process just your plants will look more fuller under mh or hps compared to the rest

don't listen to this guy, he's a moron.
grow with a 6500 K MH 24/0 and you can cut your vegging time in half, over a standard MH (4000 K)
This is the only way you can reduce your harvest date time.

Try an LED! Old hippies will scuff at you but so far they're great for VEG and produce little heat. I would look for a 200 watt panel most focused in blue light, from a reputable company.

LOL Just after this post, my fucking lights burn out after 6 months!!!! My replacement option is a 400w MH. But Im getting an LED asap!
