Best LED

The widest spectrum you can find. Meaning the most diverse array of diodes. No idea what those are, I was an early investor in quantum boards and haven't recouped for new lights.

That migro guy is a fucking weirdo. Not even American. What a weird job, to shill shitty Chinese lights for a living from some shithole island. Does he actually grow anything? What nutes does he use? How are his "evaluations" standardized when nutrition is a complete mystery?
Dumbest comment ive ever seen.

Wtf does being American have to do with anything? And he doesn't "shill" any lights he tests more than anyone in the industry and has on several occasions made public posts about lights he feels are a better deal than his own that he makes and sells.

And nutrients huh?? What does that have to do with light testing?

If you can buy it off Amazon, ( I looked at migro’s website, they have an Amazon “store front”, and advertise it on their website) I’m not interested. I guess thank you for replying though. Kinda thought when I said AMERICAN made, that would instantly rule out Amazon.
Very foolish..theres no diodes, or drivers made in America. The best you can get are American "assembled" which you can buy plenty of on Amazon.

The most efficient panel in the world right now is the updated HLG Scorpion Diablo, just barely edging out the chilled grow craft ultra, which was the record holder for a short time taking it from the old scorpion.

I specialize in low volt control circuits. A lot of PLC, VFD, automation in assembly lines, etc. lots of ladder logic designs. With that said, I do feel confident in designing/building a fixture. However, I have no clue where to start sourcing material. I would also like some parameters to go off of without depending on a manufacturer to tell the truth about their own product specs. My dream would be to produce a fixture that is made in America, with American made components, by Americans, that kicks everything else’s ass. We can all dream right? Would you mind pointing me in the right direction to find a good website for hardware? Possibly some old drawings to work off if. Any info is appreciated.

P.S. Say, if someone had a successful grow with old viparspectra lights, let’s say the va2000’s. How much difference would a led retrofit make?
I buy components from Digikey, Arrow Electronics and ebay. Not many diodes or drivers made in America.

Can't imagine you'll find a built in the USA light for any reasonable price. The most important bits are the diodes and drivers anyway, and afaik, they are all built overseas.

DIY fixtures are easily assembled, and being an electrician, it should be a walk in the park for you.

I've assembled a few HLG quantum board fixtures over the years, it's stupid simple. If I needed to build a new fixture now I'd be looking at strip lights on DigiKey like 1212ham is suggesting.

If you're looking to buy an off the shelf product, I'd say HLG. A 650r would crush a 4x4 space. I'm not trying to say HLG is better than this brand or that brand, but they are definitely tried and tested and quite popular. No one ever says, "Gee, my HLG fixture really sucks."

Who cares if hes a weirdo , he offers the only decent standardized comparison system out there.

Do your research, know your chips and then check migro for standardized par maps and thats about as much as you can do flying blind.

Who cares about what nutrition hes using. I can go scratch crap up out of a paddock and grow something decent. Personally I think leaf temps and more air flow are the most important aspect when growing with led

You dont need a diverse array , I have a friend thats been running meijiu 800 fotops in 3000k (301b) only for about 3 years and he constantly hits 1.5-1.7 gpw with no CO2 . They have terrible hotspots under the center of the boards and he has height and room restrictions.

Yes chinese lights are junky but to get into the game they are more than adequate. If your just a single light hobbyist then they will give you enough smoke to make you a happy kid

Who cares if hes American or not , Americans have been riding on the coat tails of the true revolutionaries such as Mark Emery , Howard Marks etc and weed was no better or worse before you guys got legal weed , I traveled the world for decades smoking weed wherever I went and there was one universal rule, you can find shit and fire wherever you go

The best weed I ever smoked was some of the shittiest looking bud I had ever seen. It was growing wild in Colombia and looked like it couldn't make its mind up if it was in flower or revegging. It was so sparse that you could see through the spaces in the head but it had the most unique craziest high I have ever encountered. The hype is all smoke and mirrors , it either works or it doesnt

The best LED is the one that gives you enough smoke to be happy unless your commercial then efficiency and spread/penetration becomes priority

I was today years old when I realised 3 x Diablo 350r is only a touch more expensive than 1 scorpion Diablo, same boards but diff driver, obviously running them lower per board accounts for the increase in efficacy.
