What's the best hydroponic system out there?? Im currently using soil and want to try this. I have been looking at alot online. I see some with about 6 plants on top of a reservoir and then with a reservoir feeding 6 or so separate pots. Im thinking the separate pots will allow for bigger plants and allow them to get more light. What's everyone's opinion on the best out there?? And yes, without spending $1000. Im smokin, not sellin. bongsmilie

dude.. im totally content with my setup. It's easy to maintain, cheap to take care of, and fun as hell to work with

The 6 pot system is gonna be too small for over 3 plants of any decent size. Good for starting out 6 at once tho.
Bucket & airstone\air pump & plant.
No unneeded reservoirs, no trays, no water pumps.
Swap out water once a week and top off as needed by simply lifting up the lid a little.

6 buckets at $3 to $5 each, counting lid
Net pots, too cheap to mention
Hydroton, cheap
Dual outlet airpump $7 each, would need 3
6, 10 inch air stones, $1.75 each
Air line 25', $2

For a tub system with 6 pots
10 gallon Sterlite tub $5, keep it small for ease of res change
Net pots to cheap to mention
Hydroton, cheap
1 Dual outlet air pump, $7
2, 12 inch air stones $2.50 each

So, if you do a tub system, your gonna need to go to buckets when your plants get too big for it. You could keep 2 or 3 in the tub and only get a few buckets. Or you could grow really small plants like autoflower lowryder dwarfs.

Since my seeds were not feminised I started with 6 and 5 germed and went into the tub. But at 4 weeks had to move 2 of em to 5 gal buckets as it was just too crowded. At 6 weeks I had to kill off 2 males and was left with 3 females. All 3 are now in 5 gal buckets. The buckets are as simple as it gets.
