hi buds so I have had my ladies sleeping for nearly 36 hours so far my plan is sometime tomorrow flip them lights on but my question is whats the best time to have the lights on, A friend said really i should turn on at 6am and off at 6pm and another friend he says turn on at midnight and off at midday as less ppl around on the night time do any of u guys have any suggestions as top what time to start the cycle as for my wife 12 midday to 12 midnight would suit her that way can still use the room in daytime while ladies are awake so im stuck and they will have had 48 hours sleep by the time they wake reason is i dont want no herm thanks guys

Veg 24/0 20/4 or 18/6 flower 12/12

1st number how long lights are on 2nd number how long plant in total darkness

its ur choice either go 24/0 20/4 or 18/6 during veg doesn't really matter.

Then when u wanna show sex on ur plant and ur at ur desired size of plant switch to 12/12

hope that helps some

run your light cycle around your day. you want them on for when you get home from work or whatever so that you have time to water and check condition/fix anything that is malfunctioning. i usually run mine 8a-8p. gives me enough time after work to do what i need to before they go to sleep. bu like i said, its all up to you and what your schedule is like

whenever you want m8 makes no difference what actual time of day it is.

also 36 hours of dark is a stressor on plants and in no way helpfull

I have my flowering room running 24/0...seems most efficient and better in various ways...
Anyway I still have to rotate crops into a dark room until I can set up a light mover and rig that up nicely...

I recommend between 7:30 and 8:30.. but it depends on your habits. Are you able to wake up early enough every weekend or staying out late?
Understand that you have to do it at that time everyday..
Heat and temps also play a part if you don't run constant flower..are you more worried about heat or cold throughout the year and what is harder for you to fix?
Now a timer will solve all these problems and it makes no difference at all because you don't have to do it.....if that's the case I would say run lights at night to have a closer night and day temp to reduce stretch/fox tails

12 on at night for me cause the power is cheaper at night for some reason..........12 on in the day sometimes if I have light leaks to the room or don't want to garden at night......plant don't care either way in my experience.

"Anyway I still have to rotate crops into a dark room"

Nah my veg and flower room are both running constantly
I rotate crops every 12 hrs in the flower room to a dark room . The veg plants also run at 24/0 ...no dark

oh so the 36 hour thing bud is not good and does more harm than good damn its my 1st grow i think i will go for 12 noon to 12 midnight that way wife be very happy and i get piece and quiet lol thanks guys

any fluxuation in your light schedule will cause stress. switching from veg to flower causes stress (not much though) but just leaving them in the dark for 36-48 hours does cause a fair amount of stress...hermie plants are caused by stressors that make the plant got to "last resort" methods to continue its heritage. less stress you have the happier the plant is. in nature theres no 36-48 hour dark operiod, the daylight hours slowly decrease as the winter approaches. to drop your lighting schedule down 1-2 min a day till desired times is just silly. veg on desired veg cycle untill ready to flower then just do it..dont fuck with all these stupid ass "tricks" people swear by cuz they are just retarded imho

If your in a cold climate and you need to heat room then power up at night when its colder. And yes here its cheaper at night 😀.

Even though I grow indoors, I try to follow mother nature's lead. I believe there are unseen forces that we can use to our growing advantage

I crack seeds on the new moons and harvest on the waning moons. As you can imagine, I turn lights on with morning light and off with setting sun

Also i gotta ask what if the plants origins are from like Indonesia, do you follow the light cycle there?

I agree that following Mother nature's lead is a wise practice, as she's a powerful force that can be rather unforgiving when she wants to be nasty.

Cracking your seeds on a new moon? give me a break, how dumb. BTW: I harvest when the trichromes are ready, not waiting upon the "waning moons"

WOW really guys....cmon...to each thier own...no need to be dick wads and make smart ass remarks. he is here to share and you guys are dick bags...shame on you, and the worst part is both of you are fairly active members. again to his thier own, we should respect tht here especially if its not going to cause anyone harm to thier plants

and BTW mr. Hyde i think staring through a microscope to tell when a plant is ready is pretty DUMB, if your any kind of grower you know when your plants are ready to harvest :joint:
