Best flowering light cycle?

So most people use a 12/12 light cycle for flowering. But i've heard people make arguments that if you give the plant less light in flowering stage you get a bigger yield and more the production because the plant think's it is nearing the end and winter is coming. Im not sure if this is true or not because I've also heard people make arguments that if you give the plant more light in the flowering stage you get a bigger yield, ect. because light is what makes the buds grow. Im trying to figure out what light cycle i should use but I need more accurate info first.

- If anyone has any insight or background on either of these theories, please speak up and let me know!

- If you know if less light or more light, or if 12/12 is the best cycle in flowering share your knowledge here!

- If anyone has had personal experience with using different cycles in flowering, and what cycle gave the best outcome please let me know ASAP! (Need to flower soon)

- Any info or feedback at all helps!

:peace:

You may as well start 12/12 while you wait for the votes to come in. If in a week the consensus is 11/13 or 10/14 you can slowly alter your regime to that.
Personally I veg 24/0, and flower 12/12. Why?
1. I'm not trying to replicate nature exactly because it's impossible.
2. Photosynthesis requires light. I vegged at 250w hps on a 400w bulb, then upped to 400, then switch to 600w bulb run at 440w then 600w. By flower time I'm now running 660w boost on the digi ballast. Fuck the bulb, let it burn out over 2 grows, I believe the net gain will be worth it. I keep my lights as close and as bright as possible.
3. The 12 hours off seems to be plenty so far. I've had no riots or offensive emails from the girls.
4. I'm not trying to save electricity to reduce costs.
5. more hours of light = less hours running the heater
6. I can't go look at my babies when the lights are out.

I would say there is an arguement for less hours of light if any of your intentions are opposite to mine, ie saving electricity, prolonging bulb life, replication of a natural ligjt cycle.
I do not know for sure which is the better regime, but 12/12 is simple.

Has anyone tried something like 10/10? is it the 12 hours dark that sustains flowering, or the less than 12 hours light? And yes, I know a 'week' would last 6 actual days, what would that do to total grow time, ie from flower to finish?

IME 12/12 is the norm.

Personally I use
11:45/12:15 simply because I use a segmented timer with 15minute intervals.

Pretty much 10hours of darkness will induce a flowering response from the plants.

Its the dark hours that matter to the plants for flowering. I remember a few threads a few years back about 36 hours of light with only 12 hours of dark being tried.

IMO keep everything to 12/12.

There are a couple of things you can do towards the end of flowering to help speed up the ripening process naturally, such as reducing day and increasing night hours, lifting your light higher, running cooler temperatures etc.

Ultimately though, don't dick around too much.

I used to look at growing as a hobby. Spending vast amounts of money because I enjoyed it.

Now I keep things simple (for me) and yields have improved greatly.

KISS - KEEP IT SIMPLE STONER!

I guess il will just stick with a 12/12

Yea il keep it simple with a 12/12, and as the end nears slowly increase the hours of dark.

yea 12/12 tested and proven....check this out tho.....moon cycles......to contradict completely what ur saying but i follow the moon cycle and was even thinking of like a possible stupid 25w cfl when my 1000w shuts off to give the girls the complete outdoor experience, only in the tents.....only thing is, im too much of a bitch to do it lol bc i do not want them to somehow be triggered back into a veg state, and whats the benefit, maybe 1-2% more on the yield.....if any ......maybe something there if someone else wants to try
