On domestic issues, the U.S. senator from Vermont advocated raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020, closing tax loopholes exploited by the wealthy and profitable corporations, undertaking a massive $1 trillion program to fix roads and bridges and create or sustain 13 million jobs, a Medicare-for-all health care system to provide better care for more people at less cost, an expansion of Social Security and tuition-free college.
I agree with the 1 trillion infrastructure idea, my biggest and really only concern is who will be employed by those projects.
Too many times in the past, good buddies get the bids, they make ALL the money, hire a bunch of illegal immigrants at 1/3 of scale and the normal American citizen gets shafted since they are the people who are PAYING for it all.
They should have weekly inspections. Any contractor caught with more than 2 illegal workers lose their contract and any opportunity to bid on government funded projects ever again.
Yeah, exactly why I would never be able to run for politics. I would have cut the mic and walked off the stage and left those 2 (3, including fat guy) idiots standing there. They would have had to "shut it down" like they were threatening to do, no chance I would have allowed them to strong arm me and take my stage like that. It reflects poorly on him IMO. I know he was in a bad situation and any response (even no response) is easy to criticize but damn no way I could have let them thug me like that.that millitant biatch with foot long of black roots with her snot green braids..will be licking mr. sanders' boots before this is over and apologizing.
how much you want to make a bet? (not the licking of boots..metaphor only)
i'm not running for president so if i was there, that arm raised would've come back down as a bloody stump!
Yeah, but I am sure he is basing it on scale not on what the greedy ass business men are going to do the moment they are gifted the bid. They are going to hire the cheapest people they can get and you better believe it won't be scale pay. The contractor will simply pocket the rest and swear on a stack of bibles he is paying each of his employees scale. It is a very, very common scam on government funded jobs. I see it on a daily basis. I have contractors call me and tell me "be sure and claim you are paying your employees XXX amount of money" and I always tell them I dont worry about it because my employees make MORE than the minimum anyway.bernie's plan includes true areas of revenue growth so these projects are not just 'words//promises'.
as far as infrastructure and how the projects are determined?..hasn't been my #1 concern.
i'll look (or you can) on his 12-steps of how he plans to accomplish..he backs every idea with a source of revenue.

I have a small company that does lead abatement in poor income communities through a combination of several government programs.

Well, I disagree that he did the "correct" thing. I personally lost a little respect for him and I know many others did as well just by reading comments. Not enough to change the course, but some. I am still leaning towards him as the best candidate.
did you think those girls acted in an appropriate manner? how about if it were white people doing this at a black function?
like it or not, mr. sanders deserves respect..believe it or not, he is one of the most popular members of congress on both sides of the aisle..there is going to be backlash for #blacklivesmatter.
his actions (or lack of) spoke loud and clear: presidential.
He does indeed deserve to campaign without idiotic interruption.
