This plant is only 8 weeks old and I started it in its flowering stage 2 nights ago. This is my first grow and I would keep it in its veg stage longer but I wanted to try and see some buds before I go back to school.

I looked at it today and I saw these. I looked up signs way before this stage but I think its a female?! maybe too soon to tell, or i am just getting my hopes up. Not sure so thats why im asking this green loving community.
I attached pics below!

that may be some of the white pistils your looking for int the second pic, they will be obvious when you see them as well as the nut sack for the males. If that is one then you will no for sure tomorrow probably as more will start coming out.

Yea I'd say it looked female
But like stated already a day or two there will be no doubt

I have 2 23W @5000k CFL bulbs.. I wanna upgrade but now im in flowering so my question is, should I go to 2700k for the lights? I've heard that you can keep the same spectrum throughout the entire cycle but I'm not sure so let me know what you think.

hey guys, little update.. i noticed the first little white pistils!

I was wondering what brand or type of nutes you guys use during the flowering stage!?

I usually run my veg nutes thru stretch. They go thru a lot of growth and need the nitrigen.
But i guess it all depends on the flower nutes. And with you being new grower. I would suggest trying tobfind a simple all around flower nute. No more than a 2 part system.

I mean excuse my little knowledge lol but i thought in flowering the plant needs higher PK then N, or does that only apply to later on during the flowering stage?

and how do you feel about Botanicare ?

I saw that some use their Pro Bloom solution

They do need more PK later in flowering. But at the start when they go thru their stretch is prob the fastes that they'll ever grow, and still need nitrogen. After they go thru their stretch I switch over to my flower nutes.

hey guys, heres an update . This was taken today.
I just started using Botanicare Pro Bloom .. NPK ratio is 1-4-5

When do you guys think i can try to start identifying the strain? Not that i care so much right now but just curious, and my i still have the same lights, 2 23W CFL bulbs @5000k... seems to working out so far, but do you guys suggest I buy an additional light at a lower spectrum, say 2700k?

She is a very very nice girl for only having 46 watts of cfl I run double that I have used only 5000k threw a whole cycle and that worked for me but I now run it with a mix of both half 5000k and half 2700k threw out the whole veg and flower cycle and you do notice a change in yield

thank you , and i just bought a couple socket adapters and some 23W bulbs @2700K, and now i think I'll be set for the rest of her flowering stage. got my nutes, and lights. im hoping i get similar results and a bigger yield when I add these lights.

I'll be sure to post more updates when I see more growth in this baby!

Purty, purty, purty :weed: Just my 2 cents, and as Hydrogreen 65 posted, early flowering plants still need their nitrogen, so they can keep most of their leaves sort of green, 'til choppin' time. Again, just my opinion, but I'd use something with just a bit more N for the next 2-3 weeks, then cut off all veg nutes. FWIW, right now at the onset of flowering, I continue with the usual doses of Grow Big, while starting to add small amounts of Big Bloom. 3 weeks from now I will stop the Grow Big and make up the ppm by starting to add Tiger Bloom along with the Big Bloom. 3-4 weeks of that and it's time to flush, or add another week or so and chop.

"When do you guys think i can try to start identifying the strain?" If you can do this, you probably don't need our help. You can most likely identify Sativa or Indica, by the plant structure and other indicators. But narrowing it down to one of over 2400 strains would be really difficult, without some heavy duty lab equipment. Even then I wouldn't be on it (doesn't believe in CSI)

Keep up the good work and good luck the rest of the way :peace:

Yea looking good.i also agree a bit more nitro for a wee bit longer to c her through the stretch b a pity to c a nice looking gal do without her flash.

thanks guys, and thanks for the insight Rold2. I will definitely get this girl some more nitro, i cant see her go. It would be a shame lol. I cant wait to see what this baby pans out to look like in a few weeks. Im hoping she smells out my closet with a nice aroma.
