Hey now. I've also done extensive hiking in both states. Oregon is second to none. Ever hiked around Mt Jefferson? Some awesome primitive trails there. Easy to lose the path. Beautiful country. Same as in Washington or Colorado. I guess I'm Oregon biased being my home state. They're all nice.

:D
Yeah , i understand. Home state pride shit. Go Ducks! Lol. Sorry but your naive . The Olympics, Mt Baker, Mt Rainer , the Enchantment lakes, mt St Helens .... I have nothing invested in either states just explored and observed.

I’ve summitted a few of the major peaks.
Adams. So. Sister. Defiance many times.
Hood has turned me back twice. Temperamental bitch.
But for sure the best summit is St. Helens.

I love Mt St Helens. I did the rim hike to the top . That was so challenging. and spent a lot of time around the rim at the sides hiking and backpacking .

I've hiked all but Mt Baker. Loved it all. Love Oregon as well. I like it all. In fact one of my goals is to go east and hike the Appalachia trail. I'm sure it's beautiful as well.

Yes, I got that tattoo after my first summit of St Helens.
It's a remarkable spot.

I have stood exactly where you took that image. That hike up was brutal. The scree and loose rocks and boulders and no where to hide or get cover. I tried to hit it before it got too hot but after the snow melted. There is a very small window of time to book and get your permits. Have you gone to the Enchantment Lakes by Leavenworth Wa. That place is Mindblowing. You need a permit as well. The road going up by Mt Stuart was a complete huge massive pot hole dirt road nightmare like they were trying to keep people out but it’s so beautiful people just take the beating of the long shit ride to the parking lot to take the Staurt Lake route up. But it’s more dangerous. It’s shorter than the other way by far ......but many have lost their lives trying to get up Staurt to the Enchantment lakes. There are massive loose boulders to deal with.

I was a peakbagger for a couple of years.
Oregon, Washington and Colorado.
Never hit Enchantment though. Will look it up.
Here's your scree and boulders on Helens. There's a climber near the top for scale:
