Been away for a while. FLOWERING TIME!!! 1st grow ever.

Hey gang!

I've been away for a couple of weeks now and i think it is time to switch my baby #1 into Flower mode. She's been in Veg mode for 6 weeks due to the fact that i placed her inside a 10 gallon fabric pot and wanted to get the most out of all that soil. She stands at 34 inches, 2 inches away from 3 feet. She's a Beast, in my opinion. So what do i do now? just switch bulbs from Metal Halide to HPS (which i have already done) and run 12/12 just like that?

As you can see, i bought a sun tube due to summer coming in and i need to keep my bulb cool as much as possible. I will be turning the light on from 8pm to 8am in order to bring cold night air; but i still dont think that will be enough. My grow closet is 25 square feet and my 600w is pretty freaking HOT. I think im going to have to cut a hole in the wall and run a duct from my Central Air Conditioner in order to keep temperature 70-75ish.

Also, baby #2 is the same age as #1, however, since i am a newbie, i totally fucked her up when transplanting in the seedling stage and ripped 90% of her roots. It sounded horrible ripping her limbs like that. It broke my heart. So as you can tell, she went into deep Shock and growth was stunned dramatically. She stands at 22 inches. Almost 2 feet. Should i throw her into flower mode along with #1? or Should i veg her for 2 more weeks?

I did TOP her off and i'm most positive that i will be getting 4 colas.

As you can see i have clones under the Sub Blaze 44 HO. (4 bulbs, 4 feet, High Output.) and will be installing 2 shower curtain rods inside the closet in order to block light during lights off.

i really had a hard time with the clones. i must have cut about 10 clones and only 2 survived. O well, you live and you learn.

another Question: should i prune baby#1 a bit more from the bottom? She looks too Bushy down there to me. And at what stage is super-cropping done? am i too late for that?

All constructive criticism is welcome.

Thanks R.I.U.

Hey SamWaterstone, your girls are looking good. You're correct, change over to the HPS at 12/12. Some might change to flowering nutes at this point, while others will continue using veg nutes for a bit. You might need to duct your central air into the room to keep it cool, but canopy temps around 80F will be fine. If youre using CO2, I'd recommend getting the light cycle temps above 78F for efficient use. And be sure to have a good drop in temps when they go into their dark cycle. You're plant has recovered from the transplant accident by now, so if you want her bigger, veg her longer, but it's just personal preference at this point. As for the shower curtain, I'd just be sure there is zero light leakage. If you topped her and there's four branches left, then there will be four colas. Cloning skills will come with practice. The main problem I've seen from inexperienced cloners is overwatering. It needs moisture, but you need to give those girls a reason to grow some legs. I tend to lollipop even larger plants because it enables good airflow, doesn't create an environment for any bugs/molds/mildews, and I don't care much for lower buds anyways. Any training I give my girls is completed at least a week or so before I flip to flower. All in all bud your plants look really good, nice first grow. Let me know if you have any other question.
All the best,
FF

Thank you very much frost farm! really appreciate it. You speak with great knowledge, however, your profile says you're a stranger. Welcome to Roll it Up. We appreciate anyone and everyone that has great advice and knowledge to spread. Also, i already switched my nutes to Flower mode. Been veging for 6 weeks, im desperate to see some buds!

Thanks again.

and yeah, i think i snoozed on the training, but oh well, maybe next time. No! Next time for sure!

Also, i noticed that my plants are a bit droopy. I thought i had a problem with over fertilization about a month ago and i though i was going to have to flush my baby with 30 gallons of water since she's in a 10 gallon pot. Then i realized she was suffering from Nitrogen deficiency, i think. So i upped my Nitro and i saw some improvements. However, shes been a bit saggy lately.

Does she look under watered?

I feed her half a gallon to a gallon of water when she is dry. that used to be every three to 2 days. Now its like Everyday. She gets dry pretty quick. I don't know if i mentioned it before, but she is in a Fabric Pot. So my guess is that the roots are very thirsty and growing rapidly and i really have to keep a closer look on soil dryness. Damn, i'm stoned. am i making sense?

During Early Veg stage I fed her nutrient mix in 1 gallon of R.O water set @ pH6.5. I got some pretty good run off with just that 1 gallon. Then i needed 1.5 gallons to see the same runoff. Now i'm using 2 gallons and i think im going to need 2.5 next time. Does this sound reasonable right about now for a 10 gallon fabric pot? I'd hate to over water them at this stage.

What'cha'

What made you believe there was a nitrogen def.? If there's a new image of them drooping, it didn't post. Whenever you water you want to have at least 10% runoff. My 10gal cocos used a lot more water, just be sure she's ready for more.

Also, i lowered my pH to about 6.1-2

Why?
