5.6 earthquake last night. a few things fell off store shelves. they won't shut-up about it. you would think this never happens here.:-|

I moved to Oregon in 90 from SoCal. I kinda miss the quakes. We've had one that I know of in that time. They never scared me, it was just something that happened once in a while. The only one that bothered me was the Whittier quake of 80 something. That one seemed to roll forever.

i have PTSD from the loma prieta. the aftershocks went on for weeks. it was the only time in my life i felt completely helpless. at the mercy of mother nature. i was living in the east bay and working in san fransisco. i drove over the cypress structure numerous times a day. i think i went over it 4 times that day. about 3 hours prior to the quake.

i just had mentioned to a friend how san fran has just as much of a chance at a earth quake then los angeles. i had reminded him of a earth quake that happend around 1909 in san fran and that one shook some bridges foreal.

I felt that one last night too...at first I thought someone was running around on our roof...then the whole place just started shaking.
