Basic Lighting Question

Hello,

I plan on starting my second grow sometime this year, most likely after the summer. Right now I'm planning on building a multi-phase Aeroponic system.

The first light I am considering is as follows:

I like this light because it casts rays at 5700K, which is the wavelength at which chlorophyll experiences maximum absorption. It is however, a mercury vapor bulb, which I have no experience with.

I was wondering how to safely use this light bulb. I have little knowledge of ballasts and sockets that can safely house this type of bulb to be used with an auto-timer.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction by providing a link or store website? I plan to use the light with 4-8 plants.

Any information or recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Dont get a mercury vapor.

Get a HPS or MH.

If you can only afford one light, run a HPS.

What about CFL's? I was thinking of using these products in unison with 3 or 4 bulbs:

Is this feasible? Also please provide a bit of back-up explanation for recommendations; I like to know exactly why I choose certain products over others. Thanks for the response though much appreciated.
