Basic But Fundamental Question on Indoor Flowering Period

When a seed bank carriers a strain and states that indoor flowering is 8 weeks or whatever it may be, is it 8 weeks from 12/12 or 8 weeks from when pistils show or ?

I've always assumed you start counting days immediately after switching to 12/12. If I'm wrong on this point then I may be harvesting earlier than I should.

Generally it means when they actually begin flowering.

The stretch is still classed as a veg period as the plant is changing from veg to bloom. This process doesn't happen over night which is why plants "stretch" during this time.

I always say if you are counting from switch to 12/12 allow 2 more weeks at least to breeders recommended flowering times.

I think, the number of days are from 12/12. However breeders numbers are notoriuosly optimistic. Take their number and multiply by 1.25-1.5 for realism.
