Day 67 of 12/12
Day 59 of flower

I started a 5-7day flush today ,the girls have 'all but stopped feeding and the ppm/ec is 300 / 0.6

I'm using RO to flush and not PH adjusting, since I'm not using any nutrients the plants don't need specific on range

Due to the weather being 30c in the day and 24c during the night I'm having to start the flush a little earlier than planned. I planned on waiting for a 30/40% AMBER ratio but I'm afraid if I wait any longer the drying process will be to hot and the buds will dry to fast and loose that DANK.

This is a 8/9 week strain so really its more like 10 week ? Due to it being a NEW strain there isn't a lot of info on harvesting these girls? but I think 74 days 12/12 67 days flowering should get me a idea of where thus strain is in terms of trichome production come harvest day20180627_060913.jpg 20180627_060900.jpg 20180627_060929.jpg

Why wait for amber when that's the thc degrading? That's probably where the timings are longer than you think because most people would say it's done when trichomes are more clear/cloudy

I've always been slightly confused about trichomes to be honest?
So many different opinions about it I'm only going on what my preference is in terms of smoke, I like a good body stone and from what I've read 'that's when some trichomes are AMBER??

Do you have any insights on this topic?

This strain is a 70/30 indica leaning hybrid BLUEBERRY & Og

Finally , after 111 days from seed with a 48day veg and a 63 day flower the girls have been chopped.

I left some leaf on the stalk to slow up the drying a little since its the middle of summer & 31c.
I managed to get the temps between 18c&23c with HM% 45/60

Slow and steady wins the race lol

During this grow i did notice a hige difference in phenos , 1st being short/low yeilding/more blueberry in scent

2nd is a much better plant all round so far' medium/tall / heavy yeilding/ more kush leaning pheno

The smaller plant was light feeding on the 'N' easy on the 'P' and fussy with the 'k' didnt experience any cal&mag problems

2nd and more rewarding plant was also light feeding on 'N' & 'K' buy gobbles up everything else

OVERALL

Not a bad plant to grow but nothing special if Im honest? Maybe its my skill level but i was disappointed with differences between the two in how they grew, if i could take the colour and scent from the smaller plant and match it with the Size and structure of the bigger more preductive plant ' we would be on to a winner, however i haven't the time/money or space to do a pheno hunt through 100 seeds to find a keeper just yet, but one day

I love the taste of this strain it's literally delicious. Nice looking plant you got there. I'm going to grow this strain again under some QBS I bet it would be a lot better weight wise.

If I'm not mistaken, I am seeing a LOT of patches of amber trichs.....looking on some of the sugar leaves (as many call them), you will see areas where the trichs (collectively) have a very amber hue.....the 1st pic where you say 'Im not seeing a lot of amber yet'.....maybe an lighting illusion but there appears to be a bunch of them....Anyways......Here is the poop on Amber Trichs.....
It is a sign that the cannabinoids are oxidizing and that converts the thc to CBN....that is still a psychoactive cannabinoid, BUT is not nearly as strong and pleasant as THC.....It causes the sleepy, couch lock effect.....BY FAR, the best time to pick is 100% cloudy (peak thc)....BUT, Its also impossible to get that type of homogeneous ripening, so the best time is when they just start to turn...You dont want to lose much PEAK POTENCY, so you want to make sure the MAJORITY are cloudy...When they ARE perfect for harvest, your still going to have a small % clear too.....I always tell new growers, instead of going a high percent of amber for a heavy, sleepy body effect, just grow a strain that ALREADY has that effect at PEAK THC potency.....then you get the maximum potency and the Indica effect desired (if thats the desired effect).....
Here is a wonderful explanation in a nut shell...YTScreenshot_2018-07-27-18-52-50.png

BTW, YES, I finished a single Blueberry from Barney's my last crop....HUGH buds!!!!...nute hog during rapid growth (late veg/stretch/early flower), or you will get some premature yellowing.....mine lacked the true blueberry taste/smell but was still very fruity....very potent and yielded very well...there are 2 possible phenos and the only REAL difference is the height....Mine was the shorter indica leaning pheno (100% stretch at the most)....It was a freebie seed and I trust the work from Barney's, so I grew it out....You will like them..YT

Barney's farm has produced MANY cup plants over the years...That dude 'Derry' travelled all over collecting the best landrace varieties for breeding stock...VERY serious about the quality of the strains they release and the list right now has MANY insanely potent varieties...
I have their new Peyote Critical 3 days out of their shells....EVERY seed cracked and all are very strong and homogenous looking....It their limited release cross of Peyote Purple and Critical mass...They got a Peyote Cookies too....I ALMOST bought some of their Blueberry OG being a Blueberry fan, so I cant wait to hear your opinion on the beautiful specimen you have...I ended up opting for the Peyote Critical since I have an Old School Blueberry in the nursery....there are knuckleheads on every forum...99% of the time they are frustrated growers who cant get it right and HATE seeing someone with a BEAUTIFUL plant like yours...Misery loves company....Great job!!!!..YT
How did that peyote critical turn out? im going to try that and peyote cookies outdoors next year.

Those high times cups mean nothing. Especially when the winners are usually the main monetary people for that year. Those cups are bought. Lol. Everyone knows that. Barneys is now where near the same that used to be. They buy bulk seed alot as well.

Its a sweet berry smell. Ive got acapulco growing next to it and thats like a pine tree. The blueberry is a skunky sweet stank. Beautiful.
Barneys Farms Acapulco Gold is not A.G. not even close in resemblance. Like night n day difference. It maybe possible it's a cross with some AG in it. But its definitely not. And real Acapulco Gold smells nothing like pine whatsoever. And I wouldnt call Barneys a breeder really anymore. Hes more of a bulk buyer and distributor mostly. But there are some nice plants in some of the stuff they have. But theres alot of bad in them too. A roll of the dice really. I've run a few Barneys when they first came on the scene. But theres just too much other stuff that is way beyond Barneys now. Some for even cheaper than barneys. But I can say I grew Barneys Farm Dr. Grinspoon from them. And it was pure sativa fire. And their Red Cherry Berry I think it's called was very nice. But everything else from them I've run was str8 shit.

Does that Dr.grinspoon really produce buds like the pic on herbies? I grew out the vanilla kush in 2014 outdoor and it was very good. Not good enough to be placed in regular rotation with my super lemon haze, delahaze or critical 2.0 though.

^Yep, definitely doesn't help when Barney's farm has straight out been caught bribing judges.

From my experiences with Barney's. mostly crap but you find something good every once in awhile.
Too many other really good breeders to mess with a company like Barney's imo.

It didnt look like the pic they use. But it was sativa all the way. Very very up racy buzz. It grew like a typical og strain lanky in structure.

Edit: it was very good. But not good enough to flower again for 119 days.

at least quarter or half amber, else its all in the head and thats no good usually for pain patients and for sure not anxiety patients. Many anxiety and depression and also pain folks can't have any speedy or as many people put it, daytime smoke, energy smoke, etc. those folks can't have that kind or they think they are having an attack or close to it for example. I admit a combo is needed, but many peope like the couchlock, fight the sleep feeling along with some of the head. If you have ever harvested too early based on cloudy or clear, you realize why many say at least wait for a lil amber. jme

Hello fellow growers. I love this Blueberry OG strain and it's been a while now since I've seen anything posted on it so... here is some love!:bigjoint: I'm back in action with another Blueberry OG Vegging out in a 3x3! She's in a 5gal Bucket running DWC under a 65watt HLG light(Quantam Board). She's 62 days old and doing great. My grow rooms humidity has been quite low (29% - 38%) so it really slows veg down a bit. So far this run shes been beautiful and green though, much better then my previous. I did F.I.M. it once a week or so ago. Im currently in the process of building a scrog to fit this tent as well. So once that is finished I'm going to open her up.o_O Anyway, I just wanted to share this!
:peace:

You want the vast majority to be milky, which means some will have passed the peak and turned amber. To get the highest concentration of milky you will see an amber here and there.
