Bananas

Right, a real long shot here but I was a touched stoned the other day and started thinking about it.

The buds on a plant are essentialy flowers with turn into fruit (assuming this, as they have seeds inside when pollenated). Very ripe bananas
have a ripening effect on fruits, would the gas that is emitted from very ripe bananas have any effect on the buds on a plant?

Doubtful but still...:-o

An interesting question, not one that i know the answer to though but a good idea none the less:leaf:

Well i did a bit of checking around and your right about bananas being full of ethylene, and that you can use bananas to ripen other fruits as to what purpose it would serve to ripen the weed early i dont know?

I'd have to say that it wouldn't provide any extra effect that a simple nute couldn't do. Do a separate grow and try it though.

I'm thinking I might try it althought ripe bananas tend to attract little flies from all over which can be a right pain in the arse. Don't think I would want them too near to my plants.

This is not a reply but a question, I'm new at this sight, and have a few plants but there is something wrong with them. I have read endless pages of info but just don't know what to the problem is. I have taken a few pics but don't know how to load them on the sight. If any one is a wake and can help please do. Just a little info on the plants-clones-about 2months in veg 18hours pd-about 1-2feet tall. the leaves are braking apart, brown, just not looking good. please help.

Um, nothing to do with my interesting banana question buy hey.

You need to upload the photos to your computer and then select manage attachments when you are making a post.

It will give you the option of uploading 4 files, select browse, pick the file and then 'upload'.

What sort of fertiliser are you using? what are you growing them in? Does the brown tinge start at the outside of the leaf? Pics would help. Good luck!:hump:

the plants are in a 1gal plast pot, using Mgrow soil. here are some pics

Wow.... nute burn? What else are you using besides MG soil... maybe that's what it is. I'd try flushing your soil and waiting a few days to see some new healthy growth.

by flushing do i just poor water in the plant as if i were water it? I haven't put any other food in it for a while, these are my first plants but I haven't put any real money into them. they were clones i got from a store.

not to the bananna but the other question...thats nute burn an i bet your miracal soil has slow release ferts in it...an with that tom food you cause nute burn an possibly nutelockout..flush with plain water for at least a week...peace
