Has anyone ever tried to use balsa wood fibers as an additive for a soil grow?

Balsa is an amazing wood. Incredibly strong, structural cells, with a very low density. This means its mostly air.

It also tends not to rot. =)

Catch my drift?

It tends not to rot it can't rot bro if it did it would cause root rot plant dead.also balsa is alot more expensive than perlite.
