ballast freaking out please help!!!!

i have a 250 watt MH ballast and i know the bulb is good. when i turn it on the light comes on for one minute and turns off but the ballast still hums. then after aproximately 20 seconds or so the bulb begins to flicker and stay a light blue and eventually lights up completely again. it will stay on for one minute again and do the same thing repeatedly. this ballast also has a fuse on it. any suggestions?

yep sounds like a bad bulb, but most grow shops have test tables for warranty issue and can test
your ballast, it could be a bad ballast but I doubt it

iknow the bulb is good because i have two other 250 watt mh ballasts and the bulbs work fine in those all the bulbs i have tried do the same thing. at this point i have bypassed the fuse and it is still doing the same thing. any other suggestions?

mag ballasts are very easy to rebuild and most grow shop will do it for $parts and $30 for labour so id
take it in and get it fixed

If you have other ballasts then why the issue ?

Let the plants share, a little light is better then no light. (unless you're a mushroom)

well i have been told the more wattage the higher the yield. thanks for the advice on the ignitor 5toned i appreciate it.

Yes but the loss of a little bit of light for a day or two untill you are able to correct the situation is not going to change much of anything. Besides, if it's a MH then your still in veg and make up for it with an extra day or two before you flower.

your right i am in veg but am still going to be using the mh ballast for my flowering this time around. at the beginning of april i will be upgrading to 2 600 watt hps systems but for now im using the mh with agrosun.
