I have a few plants that I grew from bagseed, in soil. I am now convinced that these girls are all an "outdoor" variety. I had them inside the whole time, right up until about 2 weeks ago, which is when they started to flower (put em on 12/12 2 weeks ago).
I then started moving them outside at some point after the lights went on every day, and moving them back in at some point before the lights went off. My reasoning was
Since they are so big, they are severely cramped in my grow room, and they were all having multiple problems (too many to mention, brown leaves, burnt leaves from the lights because the plants are all different heights, what looked like the possible beginning of mold [ I cut off all sections that had that issue, btw], and more... but the problems were just starting, it was obvious.)
I thought outside time might help, plus I get to turn off the 1200+ watts (and thats NOT including the dehumidifier AND AC that became needed recently) worth of stuff that the grow room uses...
So, at this point, the plants spend a goodly amount of time outside, and they are all doing MUCH better, almost no issues at all at this point.
My question is this:
The time between sunrise and sunset for me is just over 13 hours and 15 minutes right now, and getting shorter. The plants have been on 12/12 for about 2 weeks. If I move them outside and just leave them there, will the difference in light cycle time stress them? If so, how bad?
There are other reasons why I would like to leave them outside as well, but they are not compelling enough to make me do it if the plants will suffer significantly.
Thanks in advance!
