Hey riu i was wondering if i could use humus in place of compost in my mix im following a recipe from the rev in skunk mag.the plan is 1 part perlite,1part humus,1 part baged soil(organic jungle growth brand) or top soil and i plan to feed with humus (compost) tea adding fish ferts molasses also plan on useing organicare pure grow and bloom.also the humus i have is 80% compost and 20% manure its the only compost availible, that and mushroom compost.im just getting back into things and needed advice.

They are pretty much the same thing. The forest humus will have greater bio-diversity and may also be more decayed; commercial compost quality varies as do the components used to make it. I've purchased compost that was sea-based, derived kelp or shrimp by-products and sphagnum that was a lot like forest humus. Earthworm castings definitely differ more than the two, being a bit more crumbly in texture.

Yes, in general anything calling for a cup of compost, a cup of humus can be used instead or vice versa.

Thanks nullis, so does my plan using compost tea with fish ferts and molasses and a little big bloom sound solid besides organicare pure grow and bloom its all i can get my hands on
