Bag Seeds in Pot Outdoors

I've picked a few seeds out of a budbag I want to try my hand at growing.
Earlier today I learned my mother had several unused pots lying around in our shed. I also found several large bags of fetilizer for grass plants and grass in general. (Various brands of Scotts turf builders, Scotts starter fertilizers, and the likes.)

I put 7 seeds into one 2.5 liter sized pot. I want to just have atleast one, but no-more than 3 plants in all after sexing and removing males. I'm a new grower and have never grown before. I plan on growing them completely outdoors, but have the ability to bring them inside for hours of darkness (if necessary.)

Any advice or information would be appreciated. I'll post pics once they've sprouted. (Hopefully)

I do not condone growing at your parents house.
This puts them in jep per your local laws.

I guess I forgot to mention I've already read alot of the GrowFAQ and the 100 already asked questions.

Grow King I won't be caught by my mom. I can move the plants around enough. Neighbors are not a severe problem.. and parents arn't home till 7pm in the evenings.

Edit: I'm 18, but still living at home with my parents for the duration of my senior schoolyear.

ok so as long as you dont get caught by neighbors carryin a big ol' marijuana plant to the house, i would say if you really want some tips to maybe look into makin a grow jouirnal, wheere you can keep people posted on your progress and people can help you out along hte way so you dont fuck up. and also i wouldnt use any scotts turf builder if i were you, i dont thinmk you want to grow some kentucky bluegrass in those pots anytime soon lol and start thinkin about gettin those seeds intto individual pots,

and one question

did you plant those seeds right in the soil or did you use the paper towel method or some other meth of germintation?

Thanks Grow-King for your active advice in this. I saw the bit about Kentucky bluegrass prior to your post so I wasn't going to use it anyways. I've simply used backyard soil and added starter fertilizer. For these seeds I didn't use any methods of germination because I tried to germinate some seeds in a bag on the back of my computer monitor and it didn't work. I tried this for an entire 2 weeks with no results so I don't know what to say. I just dropped them into the moist mix of ferts and soil n let mother nature do her bit. Its just a waiting game now I guess.

Edit: Speaking of waiting.. how long should I be waiting to see stems and the like poking out of the soil?? I didn't germinate them out of soil. I just stuck the seeds in the fertilized soil and watered once. When will I see change?? I'm not a very patient guy as you can probably tell... :-\

i have 4 little babies that are around 2 weeks old. they r goin to be grown outside because i cannot grow inside, they r just starting to get there 3rd node, and i have them in brown earth soil sprinkled some of those lttle yellow ball that r fertz. as far as gettn them to sprout i just pust them in there seperat pots and let them come up but i usually wet a paper towel and put the seeds in it then i place the paper towel in aplastic bag and seal it up, and tyhen i put the bag in my room on the window seal, and in 24-48 you got sprouts

You sealed it up?? I dunno.. I took 3 seeds and got a paper towl soaked and put the seeds on it inside a ziplock bag and sealed it shut. I put them on the back on the computer monitor for a week and they didn't grow.

I've been growing with mary now for 21 years. I can tell you from experience your much better off sprouting seeds in soil. As for the ziplock bag technique, the reason it doesn't work so well is because of the lack of oxygen. If I was you I'd stick with soil. However, your soil moisture and how deep you plant your seeds are two key points to think about when sprouting seeds. Your soil sould be moist but not soggy and for proper germination temperatures should be around 75 to 80 degrees to ensure a vigurous plant. How deep should you plant your seeds? Thye finger method seems to work the best. Take your pointer finger and push it into the soil when your finger is emersed in the soil up to the first joint of your finger (about 3/4" to 1") your deep enough. Then plant your seed, lightly water and be patient. Your seed should sprout in about five to seven days!

Now there are alot of you out there who are probably going to disagree. But as I said before I've been growing for 21 years. And allthough I have tried quite a few different methods. From beginning to end trusting in mother nature has been by far the best of the best when it comes to growing methods.

One more word of advice to you Rook before I go.....Allways keep in mind when it comes to Marijuana and its growing cycles. "Patience is a virtue"

Wow thanks for that detailed bit. I think your probably right as well. I had a previous trial in which I planted seeds outdoors. The seeds were not germinated and I did not see results in a week. I just returned from that area yesterday and found several small plants sprouting. (Now two weeks after planting the seeds)
