HI! i have a baby plant it is tall about 6 inches......its only been growing for about 5 days it gets very tall but no nodes yet....two leaves on the top though.....what should i do? i kno its tall because im using a fish tank fluorescent bulb is there anything i can do to make it gorw nodes i xant get a new bulb for about a week ???? remember the plant is only about six inches please help!!!!

really 6" and NO leaves? that's way too stretched, get cfl's tubed flours if nothing else. See these? these are seedlings under flourescents, not much stretch. they are about 5-8" tall! what you can do is transplant it into a new container, burying the stem all the way up to the side leaves if you can, you may need a deep planter.
your light sux. I'm surprised they grew at all under that. get a fan in there to strengthen stems
keep your light no further than 2" for flouros, 8" for cfl's, 10" for hid, if you can hold your hand in front of the light and it's ok, then it's ok for your plants at same distance. ( burn hand =burn plant, ok?)
more lights figure at least 50w per plant and closer!!
an empty stem (no sidebranches at 6") is way to tall it is stretching toward the light, so bring it closer to it or drop your light down. In my pics, the lights are tubed flours (40w apiece) but they are about 1=2" off the plant tops. this lessens stretch and promotes rapid growth in the tops of the branches which is where the buds will eventually form.

thanks.......u mean 2 inches right
??? also mi light is very weak ......what effects will this have on the plant the light also isnt hot at all

you really need better lights, even a flourescent fixture beats what you have. use regular cool whites if you can. but you must get that light closer and yeah 2" it showed on my comp as 2 INCHES off plants. but that is only for flouros!! a gro lamp (which also suck, by the way, dion't buy one) or a lizard lamp are heat lamps not anywhere near the correct color spectrum for pot plants. they may actually die I'm not sure with those lights.

check my setup, cheap as all hell but I got 3, 2-bulb flouros growing (after weeding out 6 ,ales) 13 plants growing pretty well, considering...

well, 'faralos' comes to mind, why? I don't IM or anything like that, guess I could ifthat's what you are looking for

well, bring your lights as close as you can wothout burning your hand as you hold it between lights and plants. that will let you know how close. get a fan. You really must strebngthen that stem with a fan even a dektop oscillating one would help.

well i get the light close but it just will need to be raised the next day so i should do so correct?? u think i should tie the stem down?
