really 6" and NO leaves? that's way too stretched, get cfl's tubed flours if nothing else. See these? these are seedlings under flourescents, not much stretch. they are about 5-8" tall! what you can do is transplant it into a new container, burying the stem all the way up to the side leaves if you can, you may need a deep planter.
your light sux. I'm surprised they grew at all under that. get a fan in there to strengthen stems
keep your light no further than 2" for flouros, 8" for cfl's, 10" for hid, if you can hold your hand in front of the light and it's ok, then it's ok for your plants at same distance. ( burn hand =burn plant, ok?)
more lights figure at least 50w per plant and closer!!
an empty stem (no sidebranches at 6") is way to tall it is stretching toward the light, so bring it closer to it or drop your light down. In my pics, the lights are tubed flours (40w apiece) but they are about 1=2" off the plant tops. this lessens stretch and promotes rapid growth in the tops of the branches which is where the buds will eventually form.
