Hello All,
Newbie here with first post. Just started growing for the first time. Decided to set up a closet to grow just enough for personal use. I did a little research and decided to go the the Baby Bloomer ebb-and-flood system using CNS17 grow & bloom nutrients (kit from Better Grow Hydro).
I used old Mexican bag seeds for this first run. (Figured I'd make some mistakes and didn't want to waste the expensive seeds available on line.) I got 8 healthy seedlings that grew fat and bushy under a 150w (real watts) light with reflector--all different heights.
At the four week point, the tallest plants were over 12 inches so I switched to flowering mode by replacing the CFL with a 250w HPS unit. I replaced the Grow nutrient solution with pure distilled water for three days and then added a 50/50 mix of Grow/Bloom at about 75% of full strength. The plants doubled in height in less than two weeks.
My problem is that six of the eight plants were male and all that was left was one healthy and one spindly plant that looks like it didn't get enough light. Should I have started with fewer plants in such a limited space?
