Baal, a storm god, was worshipped by the Phoenicians, a.k.a the Canaanites.
I just listened to a show where a group of anthropologists have uncovered undeniable proof, that the horrible things written about the Phoenicians, in antiquity, were in fact true.
That is they sacrificed children to Baal and burned there remains.
A recent study by academics at Oxford and elsewhere confirms that ancient Phoenician child sacrifice took place. What does this say about the Phoenicians, or about the ancient world in general?
